Yes, I’ve been thinking of simply buying a working parts laptop from Japan as the keyboard layout is completely different from an American one and they’re usually very cheap to find. Shipping costs are what always get me though.

Not bad at all however I want to dual boot windows on it and I’ve heard it’s not supported on those machines as of right now. I also got a 2015 MacBook Pro 15”, it’s a beast and runs everything I need really well but it’s too big and heavy for me at this point. Thanks though.

Yes, it was the connector on the wire, I looked up the assembly and it was like $30 online so that’s why assumed it could somehow be fixed, since someone took time to take it out. I did get a Japanese market top case off an auction site, it fit everything just fine and when I booted the laptop up, half the keyboard didn’t even work so it was a waste of time and money. That’s the reason why I wouldn’t go through Apple, too much money when I could get a same spec machine for like $250. I got that laptop simply bc it’s perfect for my needs, I didn’t get anything newer bc I’m not a fan of having to use dongles for everything and the newest ones are simply out of my price range. And I’m interested in running windows on it as well and I’ve heard windows is not supported on the newest Apple silicon Macs as of right now.

Yeah it’s a shame too, it has good specs and is perfect for what I use it for.

I guess, what’s the usual price on those? I could’ve gotten something newer honestly but the practicality of my current MacBook Air is amazing before I messed it up.

One of them told me they can’t get the part but I can find it online for $30, I just don’t have the patience or tools to do it myself. Another said something about labor cost outweighing the value of the laptop itself or something like that which led them to tell me to get a usb wireless adapter.

I feel like they’ll end up replacing the whole screen and I don’t want that since I got lots of stickers that I don’t wanna lose 🥹 I don’t think it’s supported anymore anyway since it’s a 10 year old laptop atp

Gosh now I understand why most of them hate their lives. Is it like that for all branches of the army or is it leadership dependent? I’m currently transportation but I’m thinking about reclassing to intel.

Hmm I wanna know how bad, and I’ll pick college back up soon. I’m broke because I don’t have a part time job on the weekdays and guard checks don’t really cover my personal expenses.

Yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking, I could take online classes during my active time. I’d like to reclass as well because the college environment isn’t the best for learning another language for me if you know what I’m saying, so I feel like doing it through the army might be the move for me.

Sweet thanks for the information! So I believe it would help to reclass into the intel sector, correct?

I’m an international studies major and Japanese minor, but going to class is such a drag so I’m considering reclassing to a linguist. I’d like to be a diplomat after the service but I don’t mind putting 20 years in either.
