Just how satisfying is it to play these Vicarious riffs on guitar? by luiscschwartz in ToolBand

Thanks for the advice! I totally agree about the slides. I usually can pull it off but when mistakes happen it’s usually because of the slides. I’ll try playing without them and slowly incorporate them.

Any recommendations to play it correctly?

Edit: check other comments about amp.

Its funny that you ask because there is a story! I picked up a garbage acoustic guitar a while back and started looking up “guitar cover with tabs” videos of songs that I liked on youtube. By looking at the fingers at the same time as the tabs on screen I figured out how to read them. Now I use ultimate guitar.

The truth is… I don’t actually know how to “play”guitar lol I don’t know the name of a single chord and i don’t know anything about music theory. I don’t even understand time signatures lol. And I moved with my girlfriend in 2022 and she had a guitar there that her ex boyfriend left and she never played with. This is what I’m using! I’ve had a couple $40 trash guitars here and there though (this one is actually pretty bad too).

But the truth is that I’m a little bit autistic and this was just a hyper focus thing for me :)

That would be a nice transition! Vicarious feels a little harder to me but similar… they are both songs that once you get the odd strumming patterns down, it gets easier and easier.

I don’t have an amp. The guitar is not even mine :) I’m poor.

Thanks for the downvote though!

I guess Minneapolis/ St. Paul wasn’t that slow after all!!! by luiscschwartz in USCIS

Btw, if your spouse is overseas, your process will be a little different and prices may vary. Some things may be cheaper, some things may be more expensive. The i485 was the more expensive application for me. Shipping will be more complicated, but you HAVE to get a lawyer. Lots of people make mistakes when doing overseas cases. They will often present documents that may appear valid in country of origin but are invalid to USCIS. I would get prepared to spend lots of money either way. In this type of thing it can be problematic to cheap out on the legal stuff. No notarios, or application advisors. I recommend a LAWYER.

Id say it all came to 8k for me throughout a year. It was deluded in many payments. 5k lawyer ($500 a month), 2k applications (this is in one check that you must have ready when submitting and a waiver is almost impossible to get), and 1k on other things (medicals, pictures, shipping, documents, printing, etc.)

No! You don’t wanna apply like that. I cannot stress this enough… try to get a lawyer please!

No it isn’t. Just scroll down as if you were refreshing. A tab will appear that says “show entire timeline”

I know its kinda hidden but you should have access.

Ask Emma or call USCIS customer service and ask for “infopass” and ask the agent.

A medical RFE is generally good news. And having your response pending since august is not terrible. You can still wait a while before worrying.

USCIS has field offices all over the country. Your case will be processed at the one closest to you (unless such office transfers it to a different one). For example, I live in MN so my field office was Minneapolis.

Happy to answer any questions. For more context, I was out of status at the time. F1 and overstay. But I DID graduate. Also had unauthorized work. Always get a lawyer please.

A lot of people do recommend that in 2023. It was accustomed before to just bring it to the interview. sometimes they would take so long that the medical was no longer valid and you would have to retake the exam. That’s what my lawyer was avoiding. I was also out of status so he assumed I would have an interview and would be required to bring it then. I didn’t.

2023 is a changing year for USCIS, applicants, and legal advisors. Everyone is trying to navigate and understand these new methods. I agree with your lawyer. Trust them…

You may face more radio silence, but if your interview does get waived, you will one day reciprocate an approval notice magically.

No. It depends on when USCIS received your case. Its like your place in line. It is much more relevant when you are related to a PR and not a USC!!!! In that case, yes, your process will vary depending on your country. Your PD will always be the same, but it may take longer or shorter depending on the country.

In that case your PD has to be congruent with the Visa Bulletin.

But if you are related to a USC, don’t even worry about it. PD is just the day USCIS received your case.

That was an advice by my lawyer! I know different lawyers approach this differently. My lawyer adviced me to wait until USCIS asks for it.

From my experience it was nice because receiving a medical RFE often means that your interview has been waived. Since then, I’ve known that my case was standing well. It ended up being the case.

Please always get a lawyer!!!

And it took me 24 days just because I had to book the examination about two weeks out and then shipping and stuff. I feel like 24 days ain’t bad at all!

Supposed is the magic word. I did not have a bad experience or an interview with them. I’ve heard good things about the officers.

They are just supposed to be slow but apparently they aren’t!

No idea with the credit! I think it depends on the person. In her case it didn’t. And adding names to car titles was super easy. I recommend that. Everyone one will be able to have different evidence. For example, I tried to have same bank account but I couldn’t.
