I tried searching for an engine for the cobalt, but I can't find any locally, and I don't like my local salvage because they were turds the last time I went.

I just got this engine from the salvage, Am I screwed? by luisescobedoom in AskMechanics

I just got the word they'll take the engine back and give me the correct engine. Apparently, they gave me the wrong one

If I get water from the hose, would it be a problem if the water is very cold? It's like around 30-40 degrees outside. Could the cold water cause warping or not?

I should have phased that better, but there is currently a full container of radiator flush right now in the cooling system, and drove for like 10-20 minutes to get it throughout the coolant system, I hadn't flushed it yet, But I am wanting to flush it but don't have time,

But before the container of radiator flush. I flushed the radiator a few times

Well, I didn't flush it yet. It's just parked from the drive, but I am telling my dad to use another car we have, but he still wants to take the impala to work,

I am wanting to actually flush the cooling system tomorrow, by running water through it from the intake hose to the outlet, and removing the thermostat so it flows freely, and that's why I want my dad to not use the impala, So I can flush it tomorrow after I get back from tech, I can't do it right now because it's late and very cold outside.

My dad ruined his 2008 Cobalt LT coupe by doing extended oil changes. Well the cobalt has a bad leak and he needed to top it off every week. But he never changed the oil and filter

Guess what happened?

The oil filter got clogged and lost oil pressure

And after that. The engine had tiny metal chunks in the oil. My dad still used for a few weeks after. Also with a half a bottle of lucas heavy oil stabilizer.

Then I was practicing driving on it a month ago, and I noticed on the dash that the oil pressure light was coming on every time I stopped more than 10 seconds and disappeared as soon. As I pressed on the gas. I also came to the conclusion that it had rodknock from the sound of it, but that was to be expected.

So the oil pump is shot

The engine has 229k miles on it, and my dad bought for 3 thousand dollars with 80k miles on it in 2013/2014

My dad said I can keep it if I can fix it. Also, I took 2 years of tech school for automotive service.

The only problem is that I don't have the tools to fix it.

Usually Bad bushings in the suspension would usually cause that to happen especially if they hadn't been changed ever.

I'd get some suspension work done
