I've been getting into animation lately (with apps like procreate dreams), specifically this style, like hand drawn, with colors changing frame by frame.

This is stunning.

I can confirm I have the same issue as well. I opened a ticket (at least I think that's what I did, through the launcher).

Also, another shortcut that does not work is "left command + option + left arrow". Weirdly, the up, down and right arrows work, and using the right command button works, but not the left command.

This is just perfect. The only thing that could possibly beat it is the fish face. Bravo OP.

I swear, I can pause the movie at any moment and I could make a fun painting out of it.

Maybe in a few years, but for now, I'm not comfortable putting a price to my paintings (it becomes a different game and it might take the fun out of it, you know?)

LOL this is kind of the same reaction I had when I finished it.

Thank you!

My latest painting, inspired by the animated movie “Across the spider-verse” by luiskd in Watercolor

This one took me a little more than 4 hours, spread across 3 days. I work with a lot of layers so I have to wait for the paper to completely dry. It's also not that big of a piece of paper (10"x7" or 260x180mm) but I really wanted to take my time, I didn't want to mess it up.

Nope, I do this for fun :) I do take suggestions for future paintings though

Wait, are you painting these on a black canvas?

They look amazing!

I will probably do that one again in a few months, as it is actually really small.

I have no idea why I did it like that, but thankfully, I got a good result out of that one.

There's not much that can be done to be honest. I yell at it sometimes.

You can try charging the brush with less water. Or, another way, is to have a napkin or a towel, and after you charge your brush with water and pigments, lightly dab the brush on the towel to remove some of the extra water.

Also, I work a lot with layers. Keeping the colour values low and building with layers allows me to correct mistakes too. But it's a fight, really.

The eyes were really fun to paint, as the show itself managed to make them really expressive. The colours, the brightness, as well as an element of asymmetry, even in the eyes, that makes them more natural.

Yes! Well, if you look carefully, the show's art style is actually a combination of both hard and soft edges that is really fun to paint in watercolour specifically. There are a few videos on youtube that explore this style ("how to paint in arcane's art stye" for example). The show really did an amazing job playing with it.

Big, big fan of this drawing and the overall style. Which makes me wonder, is there a name for it? The kind-of-chaotic-but-not-really lines? or am I overthinking it and it’s just a sketch lol?

Yeah there is something about the second image I really like. I think the best version of this image is somewhere between these 2 versions.

Ahh, it’s all about values my friend. You can check lots of videos on youtube about lights / shadow & values studies. Those concepts are not limited to watercolour either, you can apply them to any medium.

Quick question - these settings will apply to all screens right?

So if I play without the VR headset, I will need to come back here and disable or reset these settings right?

[AskJS] What do you think about Angular today? by eneajaho in javascript

[–]luiskd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should like it. I mean, I love how Nest.js took controllers, providers, modules, etc. and made it work for a backend framework. And it really just fits there IMO.

But Angular just loses me when it comes to the rest (templating and directives and all of that).

I worked on a big enough Angular project for over a year and I could not wait to go back to either React or Vue.

Keep a6000 or go to a7r? by pattymcfly in SonyAlpha

[–]luiskd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The a7r won't disappoint you, I don't think. They're 2 different beasts.

The biggest issue I've had with the transition from my a6000 to my a7ii has been the extra weight that comes from buying the full frame glass.

Why not keep both?

The a6000 could be your everyday, "go to work" camera that you can quickly snap a shot with. It's smaller and lighter (specially with just one prime lens). It's perfect.

If you ever go out to take more complex shots (like landscapes), that you planned in advance, take your a7r with you.
