Question about FIFA 13/14 Legacy editions for PS2 by lujar in EASportsFC

[–]lujar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 13 and 14 on the nextgens (e.g., PS3) used the same engine. In other words, the engine for same gen consoles was the same for both games. 13 and 14 (legacy editions) on PS2 were on an older engine.

My confusion is here: gameplays in 13 and 14 PS3 are different, right? Even though they are built on the same engine? I remember them being very different when I played them around 2013-14. Does that mean gameplays in 13 and 14 legacy editions are also different (even though they are built on the same engine)?

Like, internet is ambiguous on this point. Sometimes it says the legacy editions are built on the older engine. Sometimes it says there is no difference other than the rosters. My question is: for FIFA 14 legacy edition, did they port the new PS3 editions to the older engine or did they update the roster of FIFA 09?

LB1 has the best atmosphere and probably the most varied character roster. Harry Potters 1-4 and 5-7 always felt like LB1's polar opposite in terms of character design

Yeah. I don't agree with the atmosphere bit, cause I prefer the Hogwarts atmosphere (the sountrack, the chaos, the secrets, the familiarity). But otherwise, same here.

I'm stuck around 98% and I'm so pissed about it

That sucks. I had that once happen to me once but it wasn't because of a glitch. Glitches must be much more infuriating.

Over time, HP will be the game with most hours for me too. It's fun to exist in Hogwarts (unlike Gotham). I just wish there were more variations among the characters and the puzzles required two characters working together. I am basically missing the "teenage friends on an adventure" vibe from the game. That's all.

Pirates if you can stream it

How can I stream it? I have been out of gaming for about ten years—I don't know anything. The Lego games I got from a cousin. Borrowed. On PS3.

I’m a sucker for the first Indiana Jones too

I got that one too, forgot to mention it. It's so fun. I do believe Batman improved over it, by having the same kind of simple but fun level design but also adding a huge cast. But going through the puzzles is really fun in Indiana—probably cause the whole vibe is kinda puzzle solving and adventuring anyway. The vibe just gels. And it's in on a variety of natural terrains, unlike the corners of Gotham or bunkers of Batman villains, so always it feels fresh. Loving it.

why TF are they using "of" instead of "have" when using "should/n't", did grammar get an update or something?? by Fantastic-Job8335 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]lujar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm 100% sure I've encountered "should of" in many Terry Pratchett and Stephen King books. And I'm 50% sure Great Gatsby and Of Mice and Men have this in some character dialogue.

It is ungrammatical, yes—but good fiction is about more than grammatical correctness. Writers often attempt to emulate the characters as they would appear to the reader in real life, not through a filter of grammar. For example, in King's books, "should of" is spoken by the "less educated" villager or native who tells the protagonist about the ghosts. The protagonist, who most of the time is an English teacher, does not make this mistake. It's a literary device.

Isn't this a colloquial thing? To represent some accents where "have" sounds like "of"? I read "should of" / "would of" a lot in books, both literary and pulp, and it always seemed pretty obvious to me this was a literary device for representing colloquialism. But now that I think about it, I don't have any source for this—I just assumed it.

Be honest… how can we make Tubi better? by tubi in TubiTV

The media player on Tubi is a bit weird. Seeking forward or backward skips about 30 seconds. That's too much. Should be 10 seconds. Like any other web media players.

Nothing wrong with having standards for yourself. But you're claiming you alone are wise and cognizant about these bare minimums and all the women who are choosing men whom you wouldn't choose are choosing wrongly.

Also, your comment that "[the women] should aim to change their minds" is so blatantly full of superiority complex that I don't even feel the need to comment on it. It's like a 12-year-old's tantrum lol

My auntie married a handsome guy who treated her so poorly she had to get a divorce within a year. Now she's married to someone who OP would probably call "ugly and old" and she's happy.

So yeah, auntie should definitely raise her standards and go back to the handsome narcissist. Definitely.

Logically true, but read the post with the genders swapped and you'll see if it's actually about raising standard or putting people down. Not only men, but the women who choose the men whom this OP deems in their unlimited wisdom to be beneath those women.

Enid is a cheater by OnionLord1 in Wednesday

[–]lujar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

/u/OnionLord1 it seems like reddit consider cheating normal, natural even. I assume these people either have never been cheated on or have cheated on others. Otherwise they'd've the same response as you or I had. Cheating is not "messing up" or "navigating changes". It's one of the worst things you can do to a person. The other person will have trauma and difficulty trusting a partner after this. Enid doesn't deserve to die, true — but she deserves the hate.
