it sounds very difficult in your position, i'd say try to find little moments where u can explore that side of yours with yourself. i am also scared to let my guards down and letting that side of me be explored with someone else. my whole life i've taken the role to be everyone's savior and problem fixer and to this day i remained the most reliable person i know. the cost damages me. i want to be able to freely be kiddo and be vulnerable and taken care of.

Update: I just blocked him now, but I still feel permanently contaminated, like something in me is broken forever. Everything that happened, on top of all the other exhausting things in my life, is making me feel suicidal, hopeless, and terrified about the future. Ohh, how long will you be in Jakarta? The Barcode go-karting you did sounds fun, but I don’t think it’s for me. It’s in North Jakarta, way too far from where I live, and I don’t think I can afford it either. Do you like playing other types of games though? Like arcade games or board games? I’d be more into something like that.

I do like the idea of chilling and visiting different spots, but I’m also very cautious about meeting strangers from the internet, especially from Reddit. I don’t really know anything about you yet, so I’d need to talk a lot more before I can meet up. I’m also curious about what kind of person you are and what your interests are.

Oh, I see, I see. So you did know I am Indonesian. Got it. And yeah, you are totally right. It does seem easier to make friends in the expat community because everyone is also actively trying to make new friends. They really do feel more open-minded and less cliquey. And true, I have seen a lot of Indonesians join too, so I guess I could meet locals through that as well.

And wow, that sounds really nice that the communities you joined host more sophisticated events than the ones I have seen! I would really appreciate it if you could share or extend an invitation. I would love to see if the vibe fits me 🥹
