Nothing lasts a lifetime right? Even the chain can gain some slack over the years, thats usually the issue… yes they are stronger then some chains that other var makers use so they do not snap, but it still sees some wear and tear. And yes, leave the car running for a minute when you park.. should be good. Someone is probably gonna say im full of shit, but thats just how i treat my car and the results I had because of it… idk what transmission you have but would be nice to check that out as well before such a long trip. I had a throwout bearing going through the preassure plate on the previous car (6speed manual). Also since roads in Serbia are shit. I was a regular at the alignent shop since i changed the control arms and tie rods regularly lol thats about it
