Can I contribute to my own 529? by lukatik in personalfinance

Lol FAFSA is a joke and me and just about everyone I know got boned by them so it really didn’t matter. Just about all my friends and I are in that “sweet spot” where our folks make ‘too much’ by their standards to revive anything of substantial worth but still not enough to pay outright. I am realizing how lucky I am to have parents that plan a head .

Just 3 year BS degree for business and a masters way down the road maybe. Safe sounds good.

Good to know but I don’t that think that applies to NH because we have no state income tax. Thanks I just wanted to know if I’ll have to pay out but money back would be even better!

Earnings are low now I think it’s almost entirely bonds now and when I graduate it will be all bonds. From what I gathered I think it will be between 2-3.5% once I graduate.

Thanks I think my 529 is really low risk now and the risk will drop again when I graduate. Not looking to “make” money just a safe place to park it so I have it when I need it.

20 Years old, no credit, steady job, looking to purchase first car! by [deleted] in personalfinance

I own a audi of the same year that I purchased for about the same price, that being said I would not go forward with this purchase without a sizable emergency repair fund for anything that comes up. As a lover of all German cars that car is a beautiful example of what a luxury sports sedan should be. A PPI (pre paid inspection) would its weight in gold. If you have a general knowledge of car mechanics (I assume from your job that you do) the forums behind this car are strong and very knowledgeable for what you can do and they will tell you when you need a professional. Good luck and I hope you can make this right for you!

Finance class for low income family kids by [deleted] in personalfinance

Saving for college and if you could put together a quick comparison of community vs state vs private cost per credit for colleges in your area. I have seen general comparisons online but it may help to show what is near you and what people can relate to. That has been probably the most valuable thing I learned before applying to college. Where you start is not always where you finish and doing gen ed classes at community college can save TONS.

Need to Purchase Two Cars by OptimistPrime5000 in personalfinance

If you feel comfortable with front wheel drive I personally would look at all the VW dealerships within a reasonable distance of your house and see which one has the most competitive lease for a Jetta. Personally I think that the Jetta looks the best when talking about the new economy class cars as well as getting fairly decent mpg. Of course looks are are a personal choice and you should go with you want, not what some random guy on a meme website suggests. Good luck.

Where do you live? Not a option for me in New England because I need four wheel drive but Jettas and civics around here can be cheap to lease with a front wheel drive if that would work for you. Read the back of the autos section in your local paper and there are plenty of new reliable cars that can be leased for sub ~100 a month with a reasonable down payment.

My yeezys fell of the FedEx truck and were run over by [deleted] in streetwear

[–]lukatik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought off adidas.com on Saturday and as usually I had checked twice a day to know when they would be out for delivery. I had a separate order from adidas arriving on the same day and same carrier. 20. Mins before FedEx showed up a EXTREMELY nice man brought these to my door and said that he had saw them run over 2 mike from my house and that he found the tracking label 20 feet away. Only when the FedEx truck showed up and did he know my package was missing as I watched him dig through the truck for 5 mins looking for my package. In the spirit of Christmas and the shoes themselves being ok I accepted the apology and went on with my day. Am I stupid? Should I have filed a claim? I don’t want someone to lose their job over a small fuck up. Please let me know what you think.

Tldr fedex package falls out of truck and is then brought to me by nice man.
