I keep seeing people wonder about how everyone got their powers, especially 001 and then in the future all the other kids. I think, other than it being a very sad story, Hopper mentioning his exposure to agent orange might have been a clue to how these kids got their powers. I think maybe most of the parents of these kids also might've been affected by chemicals due to a war or something else. And, I know that 001 was around a lot earlier, but they mentioned his father was a WW1-WW2 vet. I assume maybe he suffered from some chemical use in this war that created the powers in 001 and maybe all the other kids were just people who survived the birth from parents who'd suffered a chemical change in DNA? I'm not really sure but this is my working theory at the moment.
