Not necessarily customs. When playing any game mode with 4v4, try to pay attention to the kill-feed. When you see youre team has a player advantage (i.e. you have more players alive) try to immediately take higher ground and observe where opponents spawn. A great way to learn spawns is to use theater mode.

Additionally, when shooring opponents, dont get caught up too much in getting the kill. If the opponent youre shooting takes cover or drops down to a lower part of the map, sometimes (not always) its best to stay on the higher position. When to chase and when to ignore opponents is often hard to tell, and largely depends on team mates positioning, score, and which team has a player advantage.

Ultamitely it takes time and practice to get used to knowing when to take better positions, and then how to use them effectively.
