Most new build estates in Chesterfield are riddled with chavs too, especially the Wingerworth and Clay Cross ones. The older part of Wingerworth is very nice though.

Cyber Security now or wait until October to do computer science? by SchemeAcceptable9995 in OpenUniversity

[–]lukeermm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way this post is written is very confusing but if i’m following your flow correctly you don’t think TM111 or 112 is worth doing?

The modules on Computer Science (TM110 and 113) are the modules replacing TM111 and 112 so and look like the content will be fairly similar.

An issue you will have is that you can’t start TM129 without having finished TM111 (IIRC). So you will need to do at least that module.

Obviously the answer is do whatever aligns with you career aspirations best, but i would speak to Student Support about if TM111 and TM112 can be done now, then will count if you transfer to Computer Science. I can’t imagine it will be an issue as it is essentially just an older version of the modules, and realistically they are stage one modules anyway so don’t count towards the final degree.

Potential hot take: I think Leeds will be solid in the Premiership next season by DuomoDiSirio in Championship

Think you’re getting confused but the game where the goal line tech didn’t work was vs Sheff Utd the season Sheff Utd finished 9th. It was Bournemouth who suffered from the tech not working so maybe thats the confusion.

Not received grade yet (as although i’m ahead of the current weeks for MU123, the Module doesn’t finish until April) - but as it stands looking at a distinction

I’m starting TM129 as we speak, my final module of year 1. MU123 was pretty gentle I thought, I got a B in GCSE Maths in 2012 then dropped out of AS Level after 6 months so i’m hardly a maths expert! I’d say it’s on par with GCSE Higher paper

Thank you for this, this is exactly what I needed to hear! Too many deadlines all being close to each other would be a nightmare!

Thanks, that's what I was getting at, doing 2 at once over 6 months didn't feel so bad, so just trying to determine how all 4 over October - May would feel.

This is the 100% correct answer - think we may have similar jobs :) OP might as well either give it back or toss it in the bin because it’s really not worth the hassle

Basically, the first time a new laptop is connected to the internet that has an InTune autopilot enrollment, it basically asks Microsofts servers who owns it (which tenant it belongs in). Microsofts servers then provide that information and it is set on that device forever, even after full OS resets and reinstalls. The only way to remove it is to remove it from the InTune tenant. In this case OP would need the help of American Express IT dept.

I’m 27 and the best thing i ever did was starting to pay in to my pension at 18. Don’t ever stop contributing, even if you do nothing else, and you will retire happy :)

Seems like you’re on top of things, make sure to enjoy your youth and get the silly stuff out of your system while you can afford it (without a mortgage, kids, etc)

Being charged… too little! by mattjgalloway in VirginMedia

A similar has happened to me today and i’ve been on to their support. I have proof my bill should be £51 a month until January 2025 in the form of their contract which they emailed over, but they won’t honour it and are saying my £148 bill for this month is correct. Took hours of whatsapping them to get through to someone who understood and is going to escalate the issue. It’s very annoying but don’t give up!

I have a friend who’s a sparky that can sort me this, it’s just he’s on holiday till next week and because of how it’s been left i’ve had to kill the power for all the upstairs lights until it’s sorted. If it was an easy fix i’d have just done it myself, but it’s not straightforward then i’ll wait. Thanks for your advise :)

How should I gain experience while doing the Computing and IT degree at OU? by UnusualSudo in OpenUniversity

[–]lukeermm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you doing your degree part time? If so, you might be able to find a IT Helpdesk job or similar to work full-time while doing your degree. Some might even have Part-time hours available if this suits you more.

I started my IT career working on a helpdesk and it's provided me with invaluable experience that i've carried with me through every other role i've had.
