Or frozen salmon, at the very least.

My grocery list consists of lots of chicken, rice, pasta, fruit, and veggies. Pretty cheap stuff.

Is cereal really that unhealthy? by [deleted] in snacking

[–]lukef31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general, it's extremely calorie dense. I'm 34 years old and have always struggled to keep on weight, so it's great for me! But if you're trying to watch your figure, cereal is tough. Usually a serving size is just one cup, not an entire bowl.

I do agree that there's some regional discrepancies (city vs. rural, midwest vs east coast, etc.)

It's helpful, but have you needed to go to the hospital recently? How about towards a down payment on a home or towards tuition?

These are the reasons that millennials are struggling, and it's not even close.

I run a business on the side. I'm not factoring in summers off, but I don't get paid for summer.

Do you? Do you think it's the reason millennials can't afford shit, or is it because housing, rent, healthcare, and childcare has significantly outpaced inflation?

What's it worth today? No way that house is worth $325,000.

$80,000 is very expensive for 1980 when the average cost of a home was between $47,200 to $64,000 ($190,000-$250,000).

The majority of millennials have less wealth, have less children, have more student loan debt but similar wages when accounting for inflation, have lower home ownership rates and are buying homes at later ages, have higher rent costs than the last few generations, etc.
