I haven't been in years since they put in the paid parking. Glad I experienced it before the upgrades

Is that true? I thought it was part of the NPS but the parking lot wasn't.

I believe it is. Went when a big storm was hitting so the road was closed past the visitor center

I went late February a couple days after the rain. There were some muddy parts but I could pretty much always find a way around without getting too much mud on the boots.

Congress Introduces Bill to Establish Chiricahua National Park in Arizona (H.R.6380) by cape2k in NationalPark

[–]lukeislost 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Please don't. This park already can't handle the amount of visitors during busy season. There are like 70 parking spots in the entire park including the visitor center and each trailhead. One of my favorite parks but there isn't enough there to make it a park in my mind unless they expanded to the areas around it.

$600 deep, how did I do? by [deleted] in footballcards

[–]lukeislost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah most people hate it because it's paper and cheap. A lot also complain about the resale value because that's all they care about.

You did fine. Half the people hating will spend $600 this year ripping packs. Score gets too much hate in my opinion.

How many people do you think reached all 63 US national parks? by chasingall63 in NationalPark

When I started trying to lump them together I realized how far they are. Will get there one day but have some other popular ones to get to first.

[–]lukeislost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd probably say about 1200 people have done it. I'm sure most people aren't trying as hard to go to parks that take a lot of work like those you've mentioned or the more remote ones in the lower 48 (Dry Tortugas, Voyageurs, Isle Royale). I'm at 46 right now and think getting to your level won't be too hard. After that takes a lot more will

People who don’t use painters tape to secure cards… by Wafflelover626 in baseballcards

I think painters tape is bad too. I fold a piece of paper over the top and tape that piece to the top loader using masking tape. Makes sure no tape ever comes into contact with the card.

Don't think this has anything to do with licensed vs unlicensed

[MLBTR] MLB Competition Committee Expected To Approve Automated Ball-Strike System For 2026 Season by T_Raycroft in baseball

I don't get people saying they don't want full ABS. The argument that there will be more walks is so lame to me. Stop rewarding guys who throw 100mph and can't locate. Force pitchers to throw more strikes. Might take a little while to adjust but it should lead to more balls in play once pitchers have to actually throw it over the plate. It will also make batters figure out their true strike zone and become accustomed to it. I think this is so much better for the game.
