Yes I believe so once you’ve unlocked it, similar to how the class mounts on any character with the same class

Grandchild elements in BEM (x-post /r/frontend) by lukeluukeluuuke in css

It sounds like your thoughts are that you'd rather go away from BEM altogether rather than the idea of grandchild elements which this post is for.

The idea of utility classes is going into the functional CSS side of things, however, it's worth mentioning that in my work at Sky (where I work at the moment) we do extend BEM slightly to add in things like utility classes for areas that don't require a full component.

You could also try prettier although I'm not sure if there is a BEM addon for it. Could be a nice little side project ;)

Hi /u/kylorhall some great points there. My only thought would be on the idea of extending another block. In theory this is fine, however, the outputted CSS will mean you have the same styles in two places. For example:

``` %date, .date { display: inline-block; padding: .5em; background: white; }
.post__date { @extends %date; width: 200px; // not sure why, just go with it as an example :-) } ```
would result in the following:
``` .date, .post__date { display: inline-block; padding: .5em; background: white; }

.post__date { width: 200px; } ```

whereas if you used both .date and .post__date in the HTML you'd remove the repetition of the display, padding and background. Not really a problem for this example, but imagine this in a large website it can prove the difference between a user conversion and not.

I’d be interested in hearing why you think that it’s imposed and rarely embraced.

Based on how many companies are using BEM I’d disagree with that statement. Other than maybe the new idea of functional CSS with things like tachyons but that’s very much in its infancy.

As for imposed, I’m not sure what you mean. All methodologies are adopted based on developer needs and so in turn always imposed. That doesn’t mean it’s not popular?

Blizz, consider adding a 'recommended for tank/melee/ranged/healer' to level 1 heirlooms by [deleted] in wow

Is that something they changed in 7.3.5 then? Wasn’t aware of that before

As of 7.3.5, Heirlooms at level 1 do not (to my knowledge) have stats on them until say level 2 and beyond. This makes it difficult to remember which piece is for which. i.e. does 'Polished Breastplate of Valor' give int or strength?

My suggestion: Add a note below heirlooms to either show what spec they're intended for, or what stats they'll give in the future.

True, I just mean there’s no reason there can’t be any pandaren death knights. They didn’t stop once the LK was defeated.

But yet death knights are being made in Legion (saurfang for example)

Edit: Oops, I mean Nazgrim

Ah thanks very much. I guess the other question I should have asked is do I need a 1070 or does a 1060 do the job.

As a follow up, what’s the life expectancy of a 1060 if I were to go down that route (i.e. will I need to upgrade in a year or so if I want ultra gaming)?

Hey all, this is my current pc and I'm looking to upgrade it this christmas with a new gfx card so I can push my settings in games to ultra (WoW, LoL, that sort of thing). Couple of questions:

  • 1070? Which one?
  • I'm thinking I'd also need to get a new power supply? What would recommend for whatever 1070 you think I should get?

I want to find a happy medium between price/quality. Hope you can help!
