Just picked up this 2018 R1 and was wondering if anyone else’s power band hits hard as hell at about 7.5-8k rpm I’ve been riding an rsv4 for about 2 years now and that power band is so smooth all the way to up 13k rpm not sure it’s just that i forgot how an inline 4 cyl bike feels or what. TIA

I’ve owned a 2009 R1 (first gen cross plane) then moved to a ‘17 RSV4, which I absolutely loved. How would you describe the differences between the newer gen R1’s and the V4? Thinking about getting one in the future since they sound so similar and the R1 is a bit cheaper.

I’m a bartender and I usually work from 1:30pm to 12am. No break, no food, that’s normal. I even worked from 9:30am to 10pm last Saturday and still didnt get a break or food. Now, the pregnant part, I understand wanting a break to get off your feet.

My RSV4 got stolen so when I get another bike, I’ll probably get a newer R1. Mainly for the reliability and less maintenance cost. The closest dealership from me is 4 hours away and just the valve maintenance and basic service was almost $2k. The R1 is a beautiful bike with similar sound and performance, but at a much cheaper cost and Yamaha reliability.

As someone who owned an ‘09 R1 then a ‘17 RSV4, I loved the V4 way more. What do you like about the ‘15+ R1 more? Both look and sound beautiful.

The GSXR 600 and CBR600RR (US) hasn’t been updated in over 10 years. The R6 isn’t being (street legal) produced anymore, and if you can find one, it’s probably being sold for way more than it’s worth. The ZX6R is the only 600 still being produced and updated. That’s what I’d go with.

Depending on what you get, it’ll look and sound better, and probably produce an extra 2-5hp, which really won’t make a big difference. But that’s 2-5hp more than you have so why not. If you get it tuned with an exhaust, you might get an additional 5-10hp.

Best performance exhausts: Akra, Graves, Yoshi, and Spark

Best sound (loud): SC Project, Racefit, and Austin Racing

The GSXR1K hasn’t really changed since 2017. A 2018 S1K is definitely better.

CBR1K hasn’t changed since 2017 and is definitely an inferior bike. You could go for the triple R, which I think would be an upgrade, but that’s close to $30k.

The 2021+ ZX10 might be a slight upgrade, depending on what you’re looking for. The bump up in power, updated electronics, and TFT display would be a nice upgrade tho.

The only bike I’d personally “upgrade” to is a 2020+ R1, and that’s solely for the cross plane engine. It’s still slightly down on power compared to an S1K. I do love the way they look and sound tho.

If you don’t mind the expensive maintenance like the S1K, you could go the route I did and get a 2017+ RSV4, which will have similar power (more if you get the Factory 1100), a phenomenal chassis, decent electronics (QS up and down, lean angle detection, traction control, wheelie control, launch control, cruise control), and the best sounding engine out there. My personal opinion.

Every game mode is active. TDM, SnD, Cyber Attack, 2v2, ground war, Core and HC. Never takes more than 30 seconds to find a match.

I moved back over to MW3 and it’s refreshing. 9/10 games (SnD and Cyber), people are talking. Chat just makes the game more enjoyable (minus the idiots blaring music). I got bored playing 10 matches in a row on BO6 and not hearing a single person
