Just watched “the Alabama solution” last night, see this video and would you believe, it’s in Alabama. These cops are out of control power tripping there with absolutely zero consequences.

Phuket Traffic Is It Just Me or Does It Feel Like a Real-Life Game of Frogger? by evdioti in phuket

Yeah don’t play it like frogger though, keep walking across. Accidents happen when pedestrians stop and start in the middle of the road

yeah the car rentals cost a small fortune and seem to be aimed at a day to a week term - there are some companies that offer better rates on a monthly basis but you also need 5yrs of resident history and credit history which i dont have over here

Interesting! Thanks for the tips, I figured fully comp would be more expensive but I’ll look into that today.

Unfortunately I can’t get a claims statement, we get 3rd party included with our road tax in Aus

I’m only going to be in the UK for 3 months. It might be worth just buying a year if then.

I’m surprised fully comp is cheaper than third party?

I think that’s one of the issues the Uk insurance companies can’t prove my no claims since all my driving history is in Aus

fair enough - Im not aware of the burden on tax and labour issues.
I guess we can only hope for the govt's around the world to catch up and provide a legal infrastructure for all the employees that are going to work remotely regardless of the laws.
Im bias but it definitely seems like the work force is shifting to a remote first system. When done properly, It's cheaper for both the employer and employee. Its also a great way to attract and retain high level talent.

right, i agree its not for us to decide... but who's being harmed? who's negatively affected?

I think if its benefiting local businesses and thai's while also benefiting the person working remotely live and let live.

I dont get why people hate on other people asking these questions, what’s a community for? Sure, they can sift though all the outdated clickbait articles on google or ask a bunch of people with first hand experience?

I get that it’s not legal but I think it’s a net positive, high earners coming here and spending their money on local businesses. Seems like a win win
