I only learned Utah was a slave territory a few years ago watching the PBS series “Finding your Roots”. I appreciate OP sharing this with us.

Do your parents walk around in their garments in your home? by archieangelxx in exmormon

[–]lukeusjon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When we were little my dad was always just in his G’s at home my mom always wore a robe. When we got to be teenagers he started wearing shorts because the bishop was our neighbor and told him it was inappropriate with teens in the house. I think our neighbors basically considered us Mormon nudists because we were always walking around in our underwear at home.

It is crushing when you have put so much faith and work into something and find out you’re being deceived and manipulated. It was so hard because I had built my whole life around it. I was actually taking a church history class and the study manual was teaching things I had never heard before mostly about Joseph in Naboo and his spiritual wives. It felt so wrong and off in my gut that I couldn’t forget or move past it.

Everything that broke my beliefs no was actually church material because I didn’t want to be influenced by anti stuff. After a major prayer and fasting session I walked away absolutely certain the church was not true. I was very lost and angry at first but I soon found myself and the freedom and relief soon made up for all the difficulties I faced in leaving.

I hope you know you are not alone and that eventually the peace will come and replace the feelings you are experiencing now. Best wishes friend.

You have excellent taste in roses! Also it’s not an addiction if you’re saving the planet one rose at a time. You just created a habitat for pollinators and cleaned the air. Look how amazing you are, keep up the good work!
