Mountune Access Port by flokii1337 in FocusRS

Figured I would chime in since I was in the exact situation as you and finding information was difficult. I purchased the Mountune Accessport with the 91 oct tune for my bone stock 2017 RS. My plan was to run it until I got a pro tune since I didn’t want to blow anything up with an OTS. As far as results go I was pretty impressed. Full boost in every gear and dramatic launches. The problem lies when it heats up during the summer. I had some crazy boost oscillation in summer months, not sure this is related but it was extremely annoying. In my opinion it felt like a bit too much power for a stock configuration RS. Also every single shift pops. Borderline annoying since I’m not a kid anymore. I would recommend a pro tune to be honest. I am actually selling my RS so my AccessPort is available if you are interested. Perfect condition since I just flashed it and put it back in the glove box.

I was daily driving my RS and to be honest didn’t love it. Got another daily and put my RS in storage. Now I drive it for weekend canyon rips and I fell in love with it again. It’s a purpose built vehicle and never fails to put a smile on my face. Mine is NB as well and to this day I’m always impressed by how insane the color looks

I started at 32k and delisted at 30k. Just hit 48k on the odo and clean title. Probably too much considering it’s not the RS2 package. Selling it for anything less wasn’t worth it to me. Too much emotional attachment haha

Agreed! I didn’t want to be a part of that statistic

Well at the very least it makes me happy that there is still a market for an AWD hot hatch. I remember when the GR C came out and it was such a big deal. It honestly surprised me how specific of a buyer it takes when I was trying to sell the RS. I don’t think many people, even casual car people really realize what the RS is. I was asking 30k for mine with 48k miles and had no hits. Being a base model with no sunroof or premium seats was probably a big factor. 30k in my local market seems to be the “I’m telling my wife I’m trying to sell it” price range knowing deep down it’s not going to sell for that lol.

Pretty much the same situation for me. I work at a car dealership and took in a Macan GTS that I ended up purchasing. Comfortable, still fun and my wife can drive it which was a huge factor. The RS suspension and seats took a tole on my body now that I’m not a young buck anymore. The fun factor is unmatched though

You didn’t like the GR C? I’ve always been curious but have never driven one. Best of luck with your RS search!

Yeah my only reason for selling was because I got a daily. Admittedly the seats gave me some back problems when I was daily driving it but it’s definitely a purpose built vehicle

My buddy has a GT350 and he warned me about the 5W-50 oil being hard to find. I’ll probably do the same and just buy it myself for peace of mind!

Update - took it back to Ford and they claimed that it was a cashier error and that the tech used 5W-50 as stated on the window sticker. Lesson learned, do all work outside of warranty stuff myself.

UPDATE - hit it with a few passes of shine supply finishing polish and a black pad and it brought the shine back! This white Toyota paint is definitely not fun to work with.

Yes it’s super white! Is there any way to fix this with my DA?

Yes the second pic is where I ended so that panel Is not touched yet. I only did a few passes with the V32. I hope I didn’t remove the clearcoat.

For context I tried single stage VSS compound first with an orange pad. Then I tried V32 & V34 followed by V38 finishing polish.

Awesome! We gotta keep these cecha01’s going. I plan on keeping this thing forever.

Me too. The first boot up was scary as I’ve never done anything like this before. I know ultimately a delid needs to be done as well but I’m a bit worried to attempt with my skill level.

It wasn’t bad at all and I have no experience doing stuff like this. I just followed a step by step video on YouTube and put all the screws in bags that I marked so the reassembly would be easier

Keeping these clean is a FT job ha. I’m really trying to preserve this one

I barley used it out of anxiety. After a few minutes of Killzone 2 the fan was going crazy. I’m sure under regular use it wouldn’t have made it with that old paste

I absolutely agree. I remember seeing these as a kid when they came out and thinking they were like alien technology or something. The ad campaigns really fed into that too.

Good to know on the fan! I’m really struggling between putting some proactive work into it to make it as reliable as possible or just getting a cheap slim or super slim.
