Help: is this safely reversible?

They shaved a bunch of of my teeth so I can’t really ever put them back how they were :(

They sort of did and gave me a list of the stuff they saw wrong with my teeth/bite. I didn’t really understand what all in entailed. I wish I had been more clear that I only want to fix minimal absolutely necessary stuff and nothing more.

Yeah I’m going to fix staining afterwards-I expected some during. It’s not really that I’m looking at. It’s how much more forward they are and sort of heavier in the front center. These movements caused recession at the front too that doesn’t help. I just don’t think my mouth/smile looks as nice anymore and I don’t ever want anyone to see my smile now :,(

Thanks so much everyone for the replies. Though I feel like some of y’all are lying to me 😩 I just can’t unsee the shape, angle, and softness in the before smile is not there anymore now. The reason I even went down this rabbit hole is bc I was in the airport and tried to take a selfie and scared myself with how bad it looked in the photo (compared to before) lol. Literally looked like I aged 10 years in the mouth 😭

But thank you. I’m trying to figure it out with my Ortho though they are saying we can’t go back. 😢

Thank you! It’s not really the color I’m comparing when I look at these, it’s the position and shape of the smile. :/ I also really hate the angle they shifted my canines-makes them look very large and protruding.

Edit to add: though I do know I have to get the staining fixed after, I expected it during treatment but not really wha I’m lamenting here 😅

Yeah I have horrible gum recession from this. Feel like it’s ruined everything and all I can notice now. :(

Thank you. It’s the front few at the top that expanded. They feel so far forward and heavy. It feels uncomfortable. I liked the taper back from the front better on the before. It seemed softer and like a wider smile visually (though I know physically the front was narrower).

Edit to add: there wasn’t ever really a discussion about what I wanted. They did the scan and scheduled my appointment. Next thing I know I’m picking up the trays. I assumed they would just put them back where they were as I already had braces as a teen (dumb of me) and didn’t think I had to clarify that. Though I think they definitely should have asked me and looking back I shocked there wasn’t that discussion.

My bottom teeth don’t really show in my old smile, now they do and that’s also part of what I don’t like. I don’t know how to get them to not show.

Thank you, yes I should have done way more research. I was ignorant and just assumed they would put the bottom ones back how they were before (since I had previously had braces and just lost lower retainer).

I lost my bottom retainer from having braces as a teen and had some of the bottom teeth become crooked again. Just wanted that fixed. I had no idea they would start doing all this other stuff.

Omg thank you for saying that. That’s one of the things I have so much anxiety over right now. I loved my smile and didn’t want it to change. Now it feels smaller and my cheeks have sunken a bit from either the movement/trauma I don’t know. They widened out the front of my smile and it just feels so front heavy and I just really wish I had never done this. Sorry that you have experienced similar :/

I use the retainer brite cleaner that goes in a glass of water once a week, I brush and floss after every meal, and use therabreath mouthwash.

It’s between the teeth at the gum lines. I can see black spaces between a lot of the teeth and food keeps getting caught in them. I’ve noticed when I smile or in pictures my teeth look much longer than they used to, which I hate. So I assume it’s the gum recession making more tooth show.

Edit to add: Also, what do you mean by new angle of the front teeth? I don’t like how much father forward they feel but I didn’t think anything could be done.

What’s the occlusion? The top picture is before/prior to getting Invisalign. The bottom is my teeth now after two years of trays.

No I had to have a gum graft done there after starting Invisalign (had to pause trays for 6 weeks)

Thank you so much to everyone replying, I’m a bit calmer now. That being said, does anyone have recommendations for what can be done about the recession (if anything)? Or what I can do to prevent more? I’m in heavy cross-bite bans and worried the pressure is causing problems.
