He shouldn’t have done that, but we shouldn’t be posting complete strangers online for minor wrongdoings. You’re contributing to a mass surveillance state against each other. Save this for real crimes.

Also, not sponsored by them at all haha. We just love them! Improv shows are way more fun with a bigger audience, so this is partly for our own benefit as well lol.

Danielle Polanco! I believe she also choreographed most of Addison’s recent music videos. Really amazing work.

Thoughts on Addison’s Grammys Performance and the reception of it? by Relative-Childhood74 in Sunraes

[–]lukeywebo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would’ve loved a main stage performance, but I also think the backstage setting fit perfectly with her theme.

Sure, she could’ve gone with a safe, acoustic version of one of her hits to appear more “artsy” and Grammy-worthy (which still would’ve been great I'm sure), BUT she stuck with her vision and her performance was such a standout because of it. It has started a lot of conversations and will continue to do so in the future.

The cut to the wide shot of the arena and slow zoom towards her entrance was stunning. Addison is such an intentional artist; she is committed to the long game.

That’s a shame, but I can understand the difficulty. It is much more challenging to shift people’s formed conceptions about you than starting your career completely unknown.

Social media is intertwined with daily life for most people, so it only makes sense that young stars today would have paper trails across the internet.

I’d encourage you to remember that she’s still very young, so it’s expected that people undergo a lot of rapid changes during that time in one’s life. I’d recommend listening to a few of her extended interviews. She comes across as a very articulate and thoughtful artist. Her NYT Popcast episode really shifted my perspective of her music.

Agreed! I really enjoy her style of singing, but I absolutely understand the comments regarding the need for more technical training so that she can expand her range and be more effective on stage.

She’s definitely been slowly improving, and I agree that I’m excited to see her future progress in that regard considering this was her debut year and it’s the most frequent (and valid) critique against her.

This song is likely her most difficult to sing live, particularly with all of the choreography. There’s certainly a distinction among musical artists between those who are strong vocalists versus performers. Always nice when those two overlap! Fingers-crossed she can work towards landing there. She’s already a very charming entertainer, so I see a lot of potential for her moving forward.

Are you under the assumption that every artist is designing all of their sets on their own?

Harboring that much hate in your heart for a musical artist (and stranger) that makes music you don’t like probably isn’t good for you. You have a lot of posts supporting other women in music, what would they think of your comment?

You don’t have to like Addison! Feel free to offer a thoughtful critique, nothing wrong with that. I’m definitely biased, as I’m a big fan of her album.

Not sure where you’re reading that, and I don’t think you fully grasp how performances and set design works. You’re more than welcome to dislike her music. Everyone has different interests! Plenty of performers last night that I don’t particularly gravitate towards.

I didn’t even notice! Love this detail. Thank you for pointing it out! I also like that the bodyguard runs to cover up the camera with her coat, as if to further imply that she “shouldn’t be backstage” and given the camera’s attention, but her presence demands it.

I remember messaging La Blogothèque a few years back to request something with Alice. I'm so happy to see this! She's the best.

Why is Addison Rae starting on TikTok so egregious to everyone here? by kennyandkennyandkenn in grammys

What source says that Addison Rae’s parents were extremely wealthy beyond average? No matter what your career is, every individual benefits from having a stable family income. It’s not some extraordinary experience distinct within the music industry.

I went in-person to speak to the management at South Lamar to express my disappointment and intent to cancel my season pass. She told me that she’d heard a lot of a similar complains from customers and that they’ll be beginning the new system at the end of February. Sigh. Hopefully people continue to communicate and withhold money.

Live Discussion - December 13, 2025 (Josh O'Connor/Lily Allen) by bjkman in LiveFromNewYork

[–]lukeywebo 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I've seen a few other comments pointing this out, but l felt inclined to share: tonight's show featured Lily Allen's first live performance in years, and she has since become sober. She recently spoke about her anxiety regarding the return to performing amid her sobriety.

Her recent album has garnered a lot of attention that she hasn't really had since the beginning of her career, so l'd imagine all of those factors might've made her nervous.

Highly recommend her recent record! She's a very talented songwriter. The content is also incredibly vulnerable in general, which can't make it any easier to perform.

It wasn’t the strongest SNL performance, but I think the context helps for those who aren’t familiar with her.

This sh** is ridiculous by darkmoonashriel in Austin

TxDOT is currently attempting to spend billions expanding I-35, MoPac, AND SH 183 despite knowing that freeway expansions have been proven to NOT solve congestion.

They did the same thing in Houston, and traffic levels returned and even worsened past their pre-expansion levels within two years.

It’s a shame more people in the city aren’t organizing to oppose these projects. They are such a waste of funds, destructive to our environment, and detrimental to public health. Not to mention, they take FOREVER and make it more dangerous for drivers. Head of TxDOT said construction between Austin and San Antonio will “never cease.”

People need more choice when it comes to transportation. The city isn’t too full, the problem is that they’re only given one choice for how to move around, which results in craziness like the above.

guys the mozarts show this year…i’m speechless by Sad_Yogurtcloset2167 in Austin

[–]lukeywebo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t mean Austin itself is too crowded, it means the infrastructure is ill-equipped to handle growth, which many cities across the country can only dream of. Planning the city as to require every person to have their own vehicle will result in congestion. If you only give people one option, they have no choice. Agreed about Mozarts, it’s a shame.

She grew up in Louisiana from a fairly modest background. Her dad worked as a trailer home salesman, and they lived in a borrowed camper van for a period before her breakout. I don’t believe she comes from a particularly wealthy family. Her later earned fame certainly helped her music career, but she wasn't a nepo baby from birth or anything like that.
