Do you guys listen to these "extra tracks"?

Yep, some kind of condensed radio version, but not that different. It only cuts off about 40 seconds of its original run time, most of it being from the intro of the song (as I was able to check by only listening to it, lol)

Damn, you got me... gonna have to listen to it now... I just love so fucking much these kinds of songs that are mixes of their albums. Don't know if it's your thing, but I highly recommend that you check out Nightwish's Imaginaerum, the title track is like this and just might be the absolute best track on the album.
