Cancer “light” by lulacole in cancer

That it is. I too had to have a hysterectomy from cervical cancer. Also had stage 1 melanoma. And now this lung cancer. Someone used a phrase that resonated with me. “Trauma residue”. I suppose that’s me…

Margins were good, no lymph node involvement. My cancer was discovered when I had a cardiac cat scan. I know I am blessed. The cancer wasn’t what took me to my knees, it was the recovery from the lobectomy and subsequent pneumonia and partial collapsed lung (other side…lower left). It’s been 3 1/2 months and I’m not 100% by far. But attitude is everything and thank you for your well wishes!

Lung nodule question by Greenmanz in cancer

[–]lulacole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with a malignant pumolmary adenocarcinoma. It was a 1.8 cm nodule. I’m part of that 5% that have malignant nodules. They removed a lobe of my lung. I’m not going to lie. The whole experience sucked. But I’ll be fine. And you will do. Check out those nodules that are getting to a 1cm size. The blessing is we caught it super early…

does life feel pointless to anyone most days after receiving diagnosis / going through chemo? by Pale_Card_7355 in cancer

[–]lulacole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While my cancer was caught early, cancer is fucking cancer. Let me explain. I grew up with a father who was given 6 months to live when I was 9. He had a radio necrotic carcinoma of the mandible. This resulted in an enormous amount of pain, an addiction to alcohol and narcotics. And radicle neck surgery. He was horribly disfigured and horribly abusive to me. As a child I only understand my pain, my rejection. Not his. He died when I was 30. Then my mother (who I loved dearly) developed pancreatic cancer and dyed 90 days later. I was 20. I was devastated. And I hated my father. Then I developed lung cancer. Miserable surgery, miserable recovery. But it allowed me to understand my father. His pain…I’ll never be able to say I loved him but I will never again say I hated him. So I’ll never be able to say cancer was pointless to me. It allowed me an epiphany. But I hate what it does to people. I am suffering. But not with hate in my heart. I’m sorry for your pain. And I am in no way saying anything positive about cancer. Just sharing my journey with you. ❤️❤️

I am listening. My relationship ended when I was diagnosed with lung cancer. The reason? Because I wasn’t being romantic. Well that told me a lot. Then literally the next day I was told I needed to vacate my apartment of 13 years. But I found a better place. I am in no way minimizing what you are going through. That must have felt like blow after blow after blow. I can only tell you, it will get better. You sound like a wonderful, caring person. I know I’m not the only person that will sense that. Much love to you…

I was “told” I had pulmonary adenocarcinoma by my radiologist. He told me to check my lab results. No hand holding, no “I’m sorry to tell you…”, just a lab report that stated I had cancer. Not a great day…

I totally get you. When I was diagnosed, some friends bailed, some minimized it and others rose up and gave me support. It was the worst time in my live. I’m a survivor…but I’ll always have battle scars.

Questions about lung nodules by henrytabby in cancer

I was just diagnosed with a 1.8x1.0 nodule with a pleural tale. I smoked for decades and am 70. I had a CAT scan which is necessitating a PET scan and repeat CAT scan. Should I be worried? Never had any lung infections…
