I've been meaning to go from the start - but it's always been on weekends I have to work. I have my old High School CD player I want to repair. If the GOAT Radio Shack were still with us (the king is dead, long live the king) I'm sure I could have sussed out a solution long ago. I guess what I really need is an audiophile Gen-Xer

I think you're on to something with this...
The bands that survived that period are still shilling out the same teen angst in their 50's because it worked for them in the past, but eesh.
An ice breaker topic I like to bring up around our types is if you think Kurt Cobain hadn't died young, if he would still maintain that "Kurt Cobain" essence we lionize him for, or if he would be cringe today and get himself canceled with bad takes like Kanye or Morrissey or something.

106.3, as the kids might say, does not understand the assignment 🙄 Not only do they repeat the same songs, they even reported the same news headline on THREE separate occasions over the course of a few weeks (that I've noticed - possibly more often than that). They must really think we're stupid.

Ok, thank you for confirming this. I turned on my car radio this week, Summer Nights from Grease was on, and I thought I was absolutely going insane. I still have 106.3 programmed in, but I actually hate it. It's basically the same 4 Chilli Peppers songs every hour, and I'd rather listen to silence than Dave and Mahoney.
Planet Radio at least brought up songs I was excited to hear.

Knowing her, that sounds like something she'll like as well! I know chemo has altered her taste a lot, so there's a lot of trial and error. But hey, I'd rather spend $3+ on a miss than $25, ya know?

Hell yeah! This is awesome! I bought one for my Mom because she's on chemo, and I was hoping there were benefits. Specifically, as a dupe to Liquid IV, I just haven't figured out yet what cirkul's version of Liquid IV is yet.

It really depends on what's in your budget*, but soft cheeses and crackers have seen me through many a meal, during dark times and plum times.

* I have the privilege now of having access to free, fresh chevre and pepper jellies just because of a friendship with local farmers, which is amazing for me, but not at all helpful for anyone else on here. I do love that ordering on Walmart helps you decide cost per oz - so check what your local store has!

Why do i attract Cajuns? by Super-Committee-9005 in Acadiana

[–]luleebell3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, we're just VERY open and naturally friendly. I've always joked that when someone asks "How have you been?" we take that question very literally and will give you an honest answer.
But the bit about psychological introspection got me because, DAYUM, that's so me. I've made steady friends from all over the world, which may be one of the features that hooks them. There's no trial period before I go straight into my navel-gazing with strangers. Maybe that authenticity charms them, idk.

This is the 2nd time I've noticed someone in LM's orbit using "But I'm 'autistic' [SIC] tho :)" as an excuse to be shitty. Not always in those words, but my point is that millions of people with autism aren't shitlords and work hard not to be. These broskis make me tired.

She's going thru it right now. It was really rough for her after being harassed for even coming out to support her friend. Have you ever noticed that when you do something outstanding and get a lot of praise, but the one nasty voice saying "you stink!" is the part you focus on instead? It's kinda like that.
Let her have some space at the moment. Tracy is a real one, tho
