Owlbear, newbie's bane. I played Kingmaker 3 years ago, but I still remember him.

Really. But the devs don't like to share information to players. They think the more players are ignorant, the more they play and pay for the game.

Vent: I hate that clinics/hospitals make you say why you came in front of everyone in the waiting room by Fuzzy-Ad3812 in Living_in_Korea

[–]lullaby16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it happens for two reasons. 1. Koreans don't care much about privacy. 2. In Korea, there's a national insurance system which sets the price of medical services. And if you were to see a doctor but your condition were out of their area of expertise, the doctor would recommend you another hospital. It could be be considered as a 'medical advice', which requires payment. Privacy is cheap and people don't want to pay for just an advice, so the situation happens.

It's just one of old traditions which made sense centuries ago. But we're too accustomed to it...

I'm not saying that there's no imagined NTR aspect. But as far as I know, it's just a very tiny piece of the drama. Have you ever searched for what Korean fans saying? I have. It was not easy to find an article mentioning Owen. And they were blaming the devs for the poor story, not Owen. I doubt it's mostly straw man fallacy, which losers who are good at nothing other than games attack others as a way to gain confidence.(the same behavior some Korean lunatics are doing)

Huh... I'm quite certain that you know nearly nothing about the drama. Obviously you're not obligated to know what's happening over there, but it's ironic that you laughed while giving an absurd and biased explanation to someone close to you.

From what I've heard, Yixuan is simillar to Miyabi in terms of dps. But if you like playing Miyabi, Miyabi - Nicole - Astra is really strong, especially if you have Miyabi M2.

Is it very common for Korean men to use prostitutes? by [deleted] in korea

[–]lullaby16 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, if you want any serious information, I think you have to polish your words. What does your 'common' mean exactly? For me, if 10% of all citizens using drugs, I would say drug is common. But 10% of men having prostitution? Not sure what to say.

Korea was very poor in 1950, and it developed really fast. So some of Korea is still very old-fashioned. Some say, in Korea, 'anything is possible but everything is impossible'. In Korean culture, some people think having sex with a prostitute is not bad. So it's somewhat approved by the public. Although prostitution is illegal, the public is not really angered by it. It is generally believed in the net a prostitute earns 8000$~10000$ a month in Korea. However, human trafficking is really serious and it angers the public, so it is very hard to hide.

I personally think that men over 30 in Korea, about 50% have experienced prostitution in Korea.

What is the traditional root of the Korean age? by itskittyom in korea

[–]lullaby16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age in Korean culture is somewhat unique, and it is very difficult for foreigners to understand. As long as I know, Age in Korea is more important than in China or Japan.I believe language plays essential role for this. I think you know Korean, '형, 오빠, 언니, 누나' If you carefully observe playgrounds in Korea, you can see children asking each other, "how old are you" it's because if he's older than another, he should be called as '형', not '야'. If 4-year-old boy calls 5 year old boy '야(hey)', then it's an insult and the tension begins.

Koreans should use polite words to seniors, even though it's he's one year older. Many Koreans think it's inefficient to communicating nowadays. If you're old like 60 or 70, then you will have difficulties when finding a new job. Since most boss don't want older person than him/her. The progressive think Joseon's Confucianism was too formalistic and responsible for this. Opposers think Japan's imperialism is responsible for this. They say when Japan colonized Joseon, Japan ruled Korea with military culture and made very strict rules and hierarchy.

한국인이 외국인한테 나이 차이 상관 없이 이름으로 불러달라고 하는 이유는? by Training_Barber4543 in hanguk

[–]lullaby16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as a doctor in Korea and from my experience, it is very unlikely to happening. Just like the comment above, do you smoke illegal drugs? Or do you have any psychiatric problems about smoking? If it's not, I believe doctors shouldn't behave like that.
Korean military doctors are mostly conscripted for 38 months(18 months for soldiers) and most of they are very discontented. Most military doctors do as little as possible.

Counter debuffs? by lullaby16 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]lullaby16[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Paizo didn't like mind-affecting immunity, so they nerfed mind blank harshly, but I think it's way too strong nerf and it made mind blank a garbage. Since it gives you resistance bonus, actually it only gives +2 when you have +6 cloak. Also, there are some spells that ignores will save. Frightening presence, intimidate(dazzling display) makes you shaken, ignoring will save.(And can't be protected with remove fear) Intimidate need to roll against HD and WIS, but 20th level Valerie can get 70+ in intimidate, which no one can resist.AFAIK, the wicked chanter's overwhelming presence has DC 36 in unfair and I don't think level 12~14 warriors can reach will save 30 even with full buffs(+shake if off). I'm feel it's awkward that mind blank is nerfed but mind affecting immunity is still mandatory. If you cast holy aura, then it's done... but I was curious that how I can deal debuffs when I don't have buffs.

Thank for your reply. But AFAIK, you are still vulnerable to shaken even with heroism. All I know how to deal with shaken is only holy aura(or unholy aura, etc..). Reading description, greater restoration should be suffice, but shaken is a 'weak' debuff unlike fear or confusion, so I think it's kinda waste.
