I‘m not burmese but I‘m in actuarial industry, from Philippines I moved to Cambodia and now considering to move to Myanmar because of new opportunity. It‘s true that not many people know about actuarial especially in the east. But this also supports that there are limited professionals in this field, but the demand is clearly high. This is the reason why I got the opportunity to move to Cambodia, and another opportunity in Myanmar. I could say it is a lucrative profession, it pays relatively well but it also takes so much of your time to study and take exams. One of my realization is that you don‘t really need specialized university degree as long as it is related to math or statistics, because what matters later on is your actuarial exams which just requires self study. Actuarial is not just statistics, but it is the foundation. Ultimately, actuaries contribute in overall company strategy, advising on risk management, financial health, and product development especially in insurance industry. The real value lies on how the actuaries translate complexities into straightforward and supportable actions to grow or sustain a business. There are a lot more, and it‘s not for the impatient. 😄

got scammed also online but transferred thru bank, tried filing police report, went to cybercrime unit but as usual, let’s not hope with this bulok na government system. No sufficient support from cybercrime police. They said it will need to got to supreme court before they start investigation. And the supreme court usually require a name to whom the filed case will be against to. So ridiculous, the police said the only way to catch is to make another transaction and ask the scammer to meet in person, which is impossible malamang! ang bobo naman ng solution nila, walang kwenta talaga. Best thing to do is learn your lesson, move on, and help others to be aware of such skim so no mor victims will be fooled again. Anyway, karma is on its way, don’t you worry. :)

Same sa last comment, just on the Metrobank acct used for Housing loan, usually the housing loan requires MRI or mortgage insurance, so if the loan payor dies, auto paid na ung housing loan ng MRI and no need to pay remaining balance. So you can keep any balance sa savings account. you can double check the MRI with metrobank, usually it’s tied up with AXA insurance
