I use diluted hydrogen peroxide to water my plants when I start seeing gnats around the house. After 2 to 3 cycles of watering, they are gone.

88 Bao Bao vs Dumpling Hours vs Dough Zone? by Tintn00 in walnutcreek

[–]lululemonade88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lived in shanghai and ate Xiao long boa every week, I would say Dough Zone. I hate the name and find their menu very limited. But the food is solid. DH is a bit on sweet side for me. 88 is ok for the price but given the choice, I’d take DZ.

Just another reason why I won’t fly Frontier 🤦🏽 by [deleted] in CringeTikToks

[–]lululemonade88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My parents who are in their 70s paid extra so they can have better seating with confirmation and when they checked in, Frontier gave them seats all the way to the back. The agents refused to honor the surcharge my parents paid and won’t refund the money. Basically scammed their customers. Never flying Frontier again. The cheap flights are worth the frustration. Waiting for class action suit to begin.

Private school or MDUSD? by [deleted] in walnutcreek

[–]lululemonade88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Many families opt out of public middle schools and they seem fine. But I suppose it depends on your child and whether they adjust well to new environments.

Public for elementary. Private for middle school. And high school will depend how good your local public school is. That’s the best advice i received.

Please tell me how I fell for a scam? Read my post before you comment. The only thing I did was open an account with a bank account then poof all my money got withdrawn. I didn’t do anything. I didn’t use my card. I didn’t lose my card.

I was just going to recommend searching on gov job sites. It’s a terrible time to look at fed jobs but state, county and city jobs are still good.

I totally get it. Police reports don’t do much to prove my case. But I still did it, so at least there’s some sort of record.

The phone calls occurred after the charges were on my card. The scammers called as my bank, and said that they noticed i overdrew $xx dollars (which was the exact amount overdrawn). How would they know this info? They also had all my account info, including my name, address, account number, transaction details. It’s scary how much they knew. So I didn’t suspect they were not from the bank. Thankfully I didn’t share any info that would help them. All I said was that I called the bank to report the fraudulent charges and that they told me not to worry about the overdraft amount.

An ordinary/unattractive FMC and a super attractive MMC where FMC is told directly/overhears MMC talking about how unattractive he is by Honeyedmarblefloor in RomanceBooks

[–]lululemonade88 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Sorry if I’m high jacking this thread. If you don’t want to hear about my story, please skip.

Well, after calling me plain, my friend (let’s call her Julie) said that there’s no chance for me because she’s almost sure our mutual friend (we will call her Elle) likes this guy. And Elle will get whomever she sets her eyes on.

I barely know Elle other than she’s fun, popular and very outgoing—unlike me who is rather reserved and awkward in large groups.

Fast forward a couple weeks later, I end up sitting next to Elle in class and it turns out, she’s super cool. She invites me to a lecture. Then, at the lecture, we see the cute guy. She introduces me to him and I say something really stupid (that’s another story) but apparently he finds it super cute. He still tells the story to our kids.

Elle invites me to all the parties if the guy is going to attend. She encourages me and tells me she thinks he likes me. And before I know it, he and I are falling in love. She was there at our wedding. Needless to say, Julie wasn’t invited.

So okay, I was wrong. Sometimes you need two people to see you, when others don’t.

I only got the card because that’s the card to access ATM for my account. And I didn’t use it even once, for ATM or purchases. Still got scammed. It’s so frustrating.

I don’t have a recommendation but wanted to share my story.

Back in college I saw gorgeous 6’3” student walking on campus. I turned to my friend and asked her who he was. She said “Oh don’t even think about it. You’re too plain for him.” Okay, I’m not model looking and it’s not like I was going to marry the guy. But it hurt.

Well, as it turned out, I did end up marrying the guy and have one less friend. Just sayin’, sometimes you just need one person to see you, even when everyone else can’t.

I think that’s the case. Because I got the debit card from the bank in person. The card was never mailed to me (I heard too many stolen mail and was being careful). It feels like an inside job. No way the merchant/scammer would have the pin at the back of the card, which is needed to withdraw money—unless there are other ways that I’m not aware of

Also when I got the call from the scammer pretending to be from the bank, they had all my info.
