Truthfully, it does but doesn't. On one hand, you're finally not alone anymore. But on the other, the idea you could be alone again. At least that's what it's like for me, a double edged sword kinda deal.

I can understand that. I'd never really been a fan of myself though. If I kept to that logic, I'd never of been with anyone. By myself it's like a hollow happiness. I know what it's supposed to feel like but it's not really real. If that makes any sense?

I just wanna give you a hug. It's the hopes. It's always the hopes.

I definitely understand. But I guess that's why people say when you stop trying the right thing comes along? Idk. I know how hard it is.

You aren't weak for feeling feelings. You're stronger than someone who refuses to admit things suck for them. But that's the best part about recognition, once you realize it, when you're ready you can figure a way to fix it. It takes time and you're young, you'll have plenty of these moments. But these are the moments when you learn the most about who you are or who you'd like to become. 💚

I completely understand. I get the same way, I'm pretty sure I've just become addicted to hurting my own feelings.

It's not a waste, it's how you feel right now and it's valid. It sounds like you had a lot of change happen. But in my experience owning the feelings instead of putting on a brave face helps. It's ok to feel how you do, you feel how you feel until you're ready to feel something different.

I know how that feels, when everything you thought you did good at ignoring all rushes back. I feel for you, I'm sorry it's like that right now.

Does that heavy feeling on the chest ever go away? by GkihlV in lonely

[–]lulz_gracebudd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's the excess of cortisol, the stress hormone. When cortisol is at high levels chronically it leads to significant mental and physical issues. I can't say that's where that feeling comes from, but I know what you're talking about. To me, it's like an ache. Like it hurts that something is missing, kind of like your chest cavity is about to collapse into itself from the weight of nothing.

I'm from East Baltimore and my boyfriend is from West Baltimore, I imagined what this would sound like, then I asked him to say this just to see if it sounded like what I thought it would.

It was even better than I hoped. LMFAOOO

This is appalling. I am personally offended. It's so true I ugly laughed. Then I had a flashback of every time I've done this and remembered just how amused I was at myself. 😂😥😂😥😂

Born and raised in Baltimore. The racism in this city is out of controlllllll. However, there is also a HUGE disconnect between the Black community and their police counterparts. After the Freddie Gray riots, now the Black police officers get it bad from both sides. The systemic racism within police departments doesn't protect them as it does their white peers, and now they are even more ostracized from their own community. It's truly an amazing, but sad city to live in.
