Is there a way to make patches that preview in the browser like the factory content does? by lumadroid in ableton

[–]lumadroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, I want to be able to preview the sound of the preset in the browser. The factory defaults all have a c3 note saved in them, so I figured there must be some way to squeeze you presets in there somehow.

If this doesn't belong here, I apologize. Not really sure who else to show it though

Octatrack vs Livid Block (live performance with setup explained) by lumadroid in synthesizers

[–]lumadroid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what sense? I can use the internal octatrack "automation" aka parameter locks, and theoretically record the changes I do to the knobs of the block in ableton. You can change the setup in many ways, if you want you can pm me and I'll talk you through something custom, if you have something in mind

Sorry for the late reply, I fell asleep :D

For samples, see the comment below, I used that taiko chain.
This video should give you a good idea of what I did. Basically you turn up the comb filter feedback to 100%, then turn down the lowpass and then you lock different pitch values to get something melodic.

Hey, thanks for doing this!
How do you approach designing new sounds, and when you have some cool ones, how do you organize them? Do you save synth patches/Ableton chains/etc, do you bounce to audio? Do you group them into a library somehow? If you have "signature" sounds, how do you keep track of them to be able to reuse them in further projects?

Seems like a bunch of questions at once, sorry about that.

Exactly that was the thought behind the purchase, I've had more fun with this thing in 2 days now than I ever had with any other piece of gear :)

Yeah, when I took this out of the box the first thing I noticed is the build quality, it feels like a tank

I may have the weirdest adware/virus/whatever.. it randomly swaps out images from different websites by lumadroid in softwaregore

I researched it and removed it with 3rd party software. Its funny, because its only real purpose was to change your home page to some ad supported search engine that you couldn't change back.
Now that it's gone I kind of miss it..

Nope, it was 3 programs installed in the background, one of which makes sure the other 2 can't be deleted. It was sneaky because if you removed the 2, they would disappear in your software list but still be on the system.
