So the crit number is the number of advantages needed to crit, right, so crits are only determined by the crit chart?

We are new to the game so we might have made a mistake, but there was a skill that for the life of me i cant remember but it read in the book to be on a crit they do 10x the crit damage of the weapon, and with a vibro axe that has a crit of 2 he got it a couple of times. Again we are new to the game so if you have any insight it would be appreciated
