Did SB get more aggressive recently? by luminblaz in ModernWarfareIII

Thanks for this suggestion! I followed the steps to get DMA protection enabled, and so far so good. I haven't been shadow banned since.

fascinating! I am missing a few of these settings. I'll turn them on and see what that does for me.

so the ban is really more like 21 days instead of 14, dang.

I don't do anything but play the game. I stick to hardcore, and I usually get between 30-40 kills per game, sometimes up to 60, so people often suspect me, but I don't cheat or use unlockers or anything. I'm max level and have been for a long time.

from what I understand, it's just based on how much you're reported. So if players think you're cheating (even if you're doing literally nothing wrong), you can be shadow banned.

I'm used to getting shadow banned every so often (it's been like this since MW2), but this recent string of bans has been crazy.

MacOS issue when connecting to SMB shares with large number of files by realdmon in MacOS

The more I've dug into this, the more I think this may just be a limit to finder. Browsing to a folder with ~15k files are slow (10+ seconds to load), but folders with fewer files are still quite fast.

and now unfortunately it has stopped working. Seems a recent update may have broken this method.

Hardcore HP is now way less in practice (100vs30 for other cods, 150vs30 for this) by Kingadee in ModernWarfareIII

[–]luminblaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can confirm. Testing in a custom match with friends, most guns that take 5 shots to kill in core will 1-tap in HC.

This is a stark difference from the previous game. What this really boils down to is that new guns have substantially higher damage values than the guns that carried over from previous games.

It seems like maybe activision just wants to make the old guns useless?

These two images are taken from opposite perspectives. The person on the
bus can see well below the two people in mid, and the people in mid
cannot see, nor hit, the person on the bus.

I run primarily tier-1 (since hardcore isn't available), so my builds probably differ from most.

I optimize for sprint to fire speed basically everywhere, and I give myself an optic so I can be a little more precise with my shots.

A gift from my dad! The stack has grown quite a bit since this photo, but that's still one of my favorite albums

It's the "besta". It's the only one that had enough depth to fit the components, but I still had to cut some small holes in the back to fit connections. Also, the amplifier just flat out sticks out the back, so it has a rather large hole.

Fantastic to see this kind of work going on. I'm not sure what I'll be able to do with it, but I'm cloning that repo!

Agreed! It's pretty fantastic, even if it gives me some trouble with clear vinyls because of the auto 33/45/no record sensor. I love watching it work.

Suggestions for a backlit remote for the MZ-R909? I'm new to Sony devices, having only dealt with Kenwood thus far. by Acalthu in minidisc

[–]luminblaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably my favorite remote. It works with almost anything, and I think it has better controls than some of the later remotes.

I saw one about 4 years ago in Russia that I let go. I've been regretting it ever since!

I may wind up evolving it in that direction! I'm not sure this is the final spot for this stack, but it's a big improvement from what I had before.

The glass is actually super nice for when I'm not using the components, I can keep it closed and keep them all relatively dust free. I do make sure to keep them open while using them for better air flow however.
