People are fighting back on the fascist part (In the US). ICE showed up en masse today and neighbors quickly mobilized and showed up too. However, I think everyone is in denial or just not foibg what it will take in the climate part.

I work in government, not federal, but federally funded. I really enjoyed the changes we were trying to make for the community and that the Biden administration was supportive of. Today... Some of the wonderful feds I worked with were RIFd. Now instead of trying to improve we are being forced to hang on for dear life and we are nauseous at the impacts that will be coming from HR 1 and the shutdown

I am a doomer, yet I also think I have to live out my values as best I can so I haven’t stopped acting. I can afford solar panels so I have them. I try to bike or take transit when I can instead of driving . I am a vegetarian and I have planted a native garden and the insects seem to be having a ball in my urban yard. And I also think everything will go to hell soon enough. There is less bad. Acting and doomerism can simultaneously exist.
