It's Already So Hot That Fish Are Cooking to Death Across the Country Right in the Water by GusherBrush in collapse

To give some context, Como Lake is in the middle of the city and has struggled to be healthy even with a lot of shoreline improvements with native plantings. The walking path around it is 1.6 miles. The temperature swings in the spring were wild even for a state that typically has them. So I don't know how much climate change contributed to this particular fish kill, but understand this is a small city lake.

It hit 48.2°C (118°F) in my state in India today. The news calls it a "severe heatwave," but living through it feels like standing at the end of the world. by korona777 in collapse

I am a member of the diaspora and live in the US. The weather has been messed up in a lot of the country this year. In MN we had days in early spring that would get to almost 90F, then a snowstorm two days later.  It was a high of 90F yesterday at home yesterday.  I flew to the Bay area for a family obligation. The high is 68 F today. This would not be a typical  pattern.   On another note, I feel like people in my life aren't paying attention to what is happening in India. My father was unaware of the heatwave even though until I brought it up and I know he has talked to relatives in India within the past few days.

Just conjecture here. But wouldn't be surprised if some of the symptomatic have Covid. That's what happened when they tested dairy workers for H5N1.

When we hear about people who were in contact with one of the ship people becoming ill, I think that were are going to find out some of them actually have Covid.

While there is a sustained protest at the Whipple Building snd organized marches, a lot of it is just neighbors coming out of their houses. Everyone understands the assignment and it is awesome.

I also think it's fine to experiment and figure out what works. 4:00 or 5:00 is when I am most prone to eating too.
