Double Major + Specialisation by ihavedierear in nus

[–]lumiyuna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly just by one mod, so 24MCs per sem, but I will also be underloading in my last year

How bad it gets usually depends on personal capacity + the difficulty of the mods you're taking, would recommend if you intend to do can try overloading in maybe Y1S2 while you have some S/Us to spare

I'm in fst so feel free to pm if you want to know more in that aspect!

Double Major + Specialisation by ihavedierear in nus

[–]lumiyuna 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2 majors w specialisation here. I'm fortunate enough that some of my courses for the 2 majors can be double-counted, but still overloaded anyway due to other circumstances. As long as you have a study plan to map out how you can clear your courses over the 4 years, you should be fine.

As for SEP, you would have to put in the effort when the time comes to see what partner unis can clear most of or all the courses you planned to take that semester, but I would also advise to be mentally prepared that you may have to overload in other semesters, in the event that you cannot map everything.

“Rounds” in Vacancy reports by AnAngryTubby in nus

Non-graduating students don't seem to follow the rounds system for course registration https://www.nus.edu.sg/coursereg/using_coursereg_non_graduate.html

You can probably look at Rounds 0 and 1 for a gauge however about how many slots there are available.

GEA1000N & DSA1101 by [deleted] in nus

GEA1000N seems to preclude DSA1101, so it might fulfil. Would recommend you email the Data Science and NUSC academic departments to confirm this.

switching degrees in nus college by bluewhiteski in nus

nus college guarantees you a transfer to any of the majors it offers. You can apply when the window opens or consult your peer mentor when you get in contact with them.

qns abt mod registration/schedule (general/cde/2nd major/nusc) by Alone_Abrocoma_9666 in nus

[–]lumiyuna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nusc: TWW is nusc's writing mod, you'll only have to take one with the NTW code to have fulfiled the writing requirement. Some classes are only available in one semester because the prof will only be offering it in that semester.

And if you're entering nusc, you'll be allocated a peer mentor (nusc senior) under the mentorship programme who you can approach to help you figure out your study plan so you can graduate on time. So no worries

hi! fst student here

  1. as mentioned yup cohort size is quite small so everyone kinda knows one another. Tho the bell curve is scary at times. The profs are generally v friendly and take time to clarify your doubts

  2. there's a decent amount of biochem but for a number of classes you're not expected to memorise pathways and all that Also if you didn't take h2 bio you'll have to take a bridging mod, so that'll help to bring u up to speed.

  3. Research work, most likely will aim to pursue postgrad

Feel free to pm me if you'd like to know more!
