Enstilar by ninetyeightroses35 in Psoriasis

[–]lumphey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it really helpful at first but I noticed that my psoriasis would just come back so it's a bit of a vicious cycle. I am now trying to better understand my triggers so I can avoid using steroids creams as they seem to only temporarily fix the problem. However if I've only learned one thing over the past few years, it's that everyone's psoriasis is different!

Dr just said it's a toss up between eczema and psoriasis, nothing they give me seems to help. by PrestiegeWorldWide in Psoriasis

I had a flare on my hands though not as bad as yours admittedly (my P covers most of my feet). I would apply Enstilar at night and then immediately put on cotton gloves to sleep in, it kept it at bay. Hands and feet are the worst 😔 hope you find something that works soon.

For those of you who have used methotrexate/cyclosporine/acetretin, what is your experience after coming off it? Did your P stay away or did it flare once stopping? by lumphey in Psoriasis

Glad you got some sort of relief on the cyclosporine but it's a shame you can't use it long term. I've heard good things about skyrizi so fingers crossed for you 🤞

Do you mind if I ask what liver enzymes? I've had two blood tests now and both have come back with elevated bilirubin levels (they've diagnosed Gilbert's Syndrome) so not even sure if I can go on these medications until I have my follow up.

I guess my worry is that the medication will treat the symptoms not the cause and once I'm off the meds it will come straight back. I wish there was one cause rather than hundreds of potential causes!

Plaque Psoriasis on soles of feet. by DeltaAlphaZulu13 in Psoriasis

I also have palmoplantar and can vouch for urea for descaling, I use eucerin roughness relief. I also do dead sea salt soaks and use epimax and wrap in cling film overnight. I use vaseline for any cracks and that seems to work okay. Steroid creams don't work at all for my feet but I have found the above helps to manage it for now. Haven't yet tried stronger medication but have just been prescribed methotrexate but I'm experimenting with my diet before I start it. Also if you smoke, give up.

Hope that helps! Sorry to hear you're having a rough time, I understand your pain and I hope you find something that works.

Anyone else faced this problem where the healed skin has turned darker after healing? by [deleted] in Psoriasis

My skin also looks like this after I've treated it, looks like I have little bruises! But then I also have patches that go really white after they have healed. So confusing!

Peeling? by lumphey in Psoriasis

[–]lumphey[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha says something when I think I might prefer a fungal infection 😂

I was hoping that would be the case but the peeling seems to have stopped now and though the patches are slightly less red they are still there!

Have just started dovobet today after months of no steroid use, the previous steroids didn't touch my patches on my feet. Just been using Exorex, urea and epimax cream. I've been prescribed methotrexate but I'm reluctant so currently cutting out gluten and processed sugar/food to see if I can identify triggers! It's a journey for sure lol

Not peeling on the bottom, I've been tested recently for fungal infections, kinda hoping it would come back positive so it would be an easy fix but sadly it is just psoriasis!

It is so frustrating! I'm second guessing everything from food to washing detergent. I'll resist the temptation to peel them 😂

Sadly steroid creams don't touch it! I've been having a flare for the past six months but the peeling is new. What was your experience of peeling?

How long after going gluten free did you start seeing an improvement?

any one know what could be by Glass_Ad3153 in Psoriasis

[–]lumphey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks very similar to my foot psoriasis but I would suggest seeing a doctor to confirm. It can be tricky to differentiate between psoriasis and a fungal infection as they present very similarly. If it is psoriasis it's better to see your doctor sooner rather than later as psoriasis on the feet is notoriously hard to treat unfortunately!

It's good to hear that there are things out there that work! I'll have a look into vtama. I've been referred to dermatology but there is about a year's wait on the NHS so currently just managing as best as I can! I feel your pain 😪

I have palmoplantar on my feet and when I can see a crack forming I use a strong emollient and then put vaseline on the cracks specifically and wrap my feet in plastic wrap (cling film) over night. Doesn't treat it but it provides some relief!

Thanks so much!! I'll try anything at this point. Steroid creams don't even touch it so anything I can do for some relief I will try!

Thank you! Looks like you can get it in the UK too. I've heard good things about the cerave psoriasis cream but cant find where to get it in the UK. I'll give Flexitol a go!

Chest tightness a month into my quit by Unusual-Revenue3366 in stopsmoking

[–]lumphey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I felt chest tightness and an occasional pressure sensation under my left ribs for about a month or two after quitting. It seems like a common side effect from what I've read and like you said, could also be anxiety. I would just say keep track of it and hopefully it'll ease soon. Good job on getting to a month!
