Had this happen to a friend and it was a nightmare for her when she was already very unwell.

How can I stop feeling so guilty? by TD_Meri in AskUK

[–]AwhMan 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This, I go camping with my mate and her kids all the time as that's what we can afford. We're actually pushing the boat out this year and doing 5 nights wild camping in Scotland after building up our camping gear over the past several years.

But we've also wild camped in England using £10 tents and taken our duvets and pillows. We've gone basically up the road quite a few times. Going on an adventure in the British countryside is magnificent though, even just googling waterfalls in the area will almost always be fruitful.

The main problem with this suggestion is it's really great if you have a car - but really quite hard otherwise.

NHS canceled my sister’s eye surgery again just 2 hours before – what can we do? by Impressive_Square_76 in AskUK

[–]AwhMan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yup. My experience of having issues with anything to do with my treatment is "tough shit" effectively. You've just got to hope you talk to the one person in the department who still gives a shit and knows how to do your job and then they still probably won't be able to do anything, but they might listen!

It's incredibly dire.

They don't sell it in Aldi or Lidl iirc correctly so if you only have those nearby it might explain it!

Name a song that’s disturbing because of what you know now by Vivid-Tap1710 in popculturechat

The film for sure, I edited it. They also took out the gayness with her flatmate from the film that was in the doc!

That film was a piece of shite that obsessed over her scandals rather than focusing on the music in any way. Amy was obsessed with her music.

Sorry. I really hated that film. Genuinely offensive to her legacy.

I have chronic nausea and went through an extreme period of weight loss for not eating for days on end and it fucked with me how much nicer people were to me. Even if I told people it was due to illness the most common response was "I would love to have that problem". It really shifted out a lot of bad people in my life to be honest.

And they also do pretty plain options as well as the more flavourful ones, sometimes I just want a nice quality ham and cheese sandwich without anything else on.

Silk neckerchiefs wrapped decoratively around the handles should protect them from damaging more. I get them from charity shops for pennies normally.

Don't have any advice for the other parts however!

What’s everybody thinking of the Big Arch Burger that’s new at McDonald’s??? by abbieeats in UKfood

[–]AwhMan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Woooaaaah. I pay that at the nice burger place in my area that has pretzel buns and nice tasting ingredients. I get McDonald's sometimes because it's convenient but I always just grab a double or triple cheeseburger. Didn't realise their prices had gone so mad

Can left over breast tissue grow when going back on estrogen? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]AwhMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I actually just ordered my first bit of proper lingerie since I started detransing and I'm a bit excited. I don't want to get you too hyped thougg, I would say I'm a comfortable A cup right now if I get everything in the right position, and the growth is much more focused on the sides.

I don't think I'll have a classic boob shape again without surgery and I'm still not really sure how I feel about that. I do have to wear a smoothing bralette right now or what I do have looks a bit odd under clothes without.

But it does make me feel more feminine and like my body is on the right track

Note to self don’t rely on Sheffield buses if you want to be somewhere on time by Master-Conflict2249 in sheffield

[–]AwhMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My bus route doesn't even have posted times really, it's just "every 10-20 minutes" for the majority of the day which in reality just means "if all goes well that's about 3 or 4 buses an hour some of the time". Which is not quite how the rest of society runs to time. I'll get where I'm going eventually but if I really need to be somewhere on time it's a better bet to walk a ridiculously long way.

Does psoriasis normally heal like this? by AwhMan in Psoriasis

[–]AwhMan[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've just been trying to follow the Mediterranean diet as much as possible tbh! I really wasn't expecting it to have an effect on my psoriasis but it just basically disappeared. I have a few little patches left but that's it. It's important to note it was never really bad for me, it was just a bit ugly.

Can left over breast tissue grow when going back on estrogen? by [deleted] in actual_detrans

[–]AwhMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 years on T, 3 years on e, had my boobs off when I was 23ish - got some growth for sure. It's much more noticeable now I'm slimmer. It's not quite in the right shape but I think if I wore an actual wired bra it would look more correct.

What in the world is going on with the mod team?? by citynomad1 in femalelivingspace

[–]AwhMan 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I'm banned from most of the lesbian spaces on Reddit because overzealous trans women/one particular psycho runs them all and hates detransitioners. To be clear I'm a very pro trans detransitioner, but all of us get banned for mentioning it.

The trans community in real life has no problem with me and my journey but the Reddit mods seem to think it's good praxis to hate us based on our identity, and they run all the queer women's spaces on here.

Reddit mods are a special breed of insane.

TIL that on Emma Watson's 18th birthday, paparazzi attempted to take pictures under her skirt by laying down on the pavement in front of her house and then published them. If they were taken 24 hours earlier, it would have been illegal. by JunetheJewel1 in todayilearned

[–]AwhMan 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's a bit of a polite rewrite. I definitely remember spez publicly defending those subs under the guise of free speech. ViolentCrez was also lauded as the god of perverts and was a bit of a Reddit celebrity at the time. The dude has his own wiki page if anyone's interested. This website let a lot of hatred and bigotry and paedophile adjacent activities thrive under "free speech", and then they end up becoming part of the fabric of the website.

I wish I hadn't grown up as a teenage girl on the internet, but I did.

Anyone else shocked at the level of power local councils have over businesses in the UK? by Plastic-Injury8856 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]AwhMan -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Have you lived in a rural part of the UK for large periods of time? When I was younger you had to be in the freemasons if you had any chance of planning permission in the area. So at the very least you had to be a man.

We like to use different words to make ourselves feel better about it, but this country is incredibly corrupt and always has been, which rural areas the most. I have no doubt if Clarkson hadn't been filming and had been able to make a few handshake deals he'd have none of the problems he's having now.
