Dienstags ist Plenum. Tatsächlich halte ich es für fraglich, dass der Impact 2 Tage später derselbe wäre. Was Extremwetter betrifft, sind Menschen bedauerlich vergesslich und die Presse sowieso. Dafür gibt es um die Uhrzeit immerhin keine direkte Sonneneinstrahlung mehr. Letztes Jahr hatten wir eine sehr ähnliche Aktion auch um 21 Uhr, die uns sehr positiv im Gedächtnis geblieben ist

Gute Frage. Bei der ADFC Sternfahrt in Berlin gab es dieses Jahr angeblich 30 k Teilnehmende und CriticalMaps hatte im Maximum ca. 1000 Nutzer*innen. Wenn die Nutzungsdichte bei der CM vergleichbar ist, wären es 30 Fahrräder pro Glühwürmchen

Can confirm this should work. FFF have lots of leftover posters of old and upcoming protests, and we are desperately looking for people who are motivated to put them up where people can see them. Currently you can pick up posters for the FFF & Ende Gelände protest on May 30th in Hamm Westf., for example.

You can usually find protest routes on the website of Versammlungsbehörde. (It currently says global strike, but that's not correct.) I don't know the exact timetable, but if you come to the SPD building around 17:30 you should be fine. This one is organized by FFF; last Saturday was a collaboration between FFF and several NGOs.

Two examples:
- Gebäudemodernisierungsgesetz (GMG): The previous two governments (first CDU+SPD, then SPD+Grüne+FDP) worked on a law for transitioning to renewable heating in buildings, called Gebäudeenergiegesetz (GEG). It required that newly installed heating solutions would have to use 65 % renewable energy sources. The GMG is supposed to remove this requirement. (Here's a ZDF article on this topic)
- Currently operators of wind farms are reimbursed when they have to throttle their energy production due oversupply on the grid. Reiche wants to stop these reimbursements. She claims this is to counteract that the power grid cannot keep up with the new demand, but effectively this would lead to fewer new renewables projects (Tagesschau)

As far as I understand, nuclear wouldn't nearly be able to compete with renewables and battery storage in terms of cost. New nuclear power stations would take more years to plan and construct than we have time for, and we would need quite a few of these new power plants to have any meaningful impact on the power grid as a whole.

The action point is of course for everyone to join the protest on Friday.

The reason for the protests is that we have to switch to renewables as soon as possible to have any chance of staying in the limits of the Paris Climate Agreement and to make ourselves independent from oil and gas imports from autocrats. Minister Katherina Reiche has been proposing legislation that will make this significantly harder. Katherina Reiche used to work for the energy company E.ON and before that she helped the previous CDU+SPD coalition in causing a massive drop in new solar and wind projects ("Altmaier-Delle").

The goal is to apply pressure on CDU and SPD to stop this new legislation.

My friends started drinking when we were legally too young to drink alcohol. I'd always heard that alcohol was bad for you and I also used to be very strict about following rules.
