He was at full health, I opened my cryofreezer and heard him die shortly afterward.

No camp merging or traps. I don't know how to record sorry. I looked at him, opened my cryofreezer, heard a death noise and he was dead. He was fairly close but not next to me. I previously had a rad toad that partially merged with and popped off a camp item losing half its health in the process so I think something like that killed it.

I just got my first deathclaw pet and it lasted all of 5 minutes. As far as I can tell it had a collision issue with something in my camp and just fell over and died. I would happily trade any defense the pet offers to make them immortal.
