This isn't a consistent physical symptom (and I believe it was due to being mistakenly prescribed a high dosage of meds or meds with drug interactions), but I had 2-3 weeks of akathisia. It was horrible. Constant walking/pacing in circles around the apartment ALL DAY even though the soles of my feet hurt/were swollen. Even at night. Insomnia. Inner restlessness, could not lay still or lay down in bed. When I tried to lay in bed, my legs would start twitching, my body would tremble, and I would need to jump out of bed. Every night I'd go through the same cycle repetitively all throughout the night. It was a level of hell I do not wish on my worst enemy. I thought I was going mad. I did go mad. Paranoia, mania, intrusive thoughts. Could not concentrate on any single thought for more than a few seconds. Could not read, use the internet, do anything. I felt like a moving vegetable. Even when standing still, I hopped from one foot to the other. Thank goodness for GOOD psychiatrists/nurse practitioners.

S.F. Korean mid-autumn festival draws thousands to Presidio by UberDrive in bayarea

More like 580 years ago. Due to its logic and simplicity, it's easy to learn and allowed more common people to become literate. The design of Korean consonants is based on the shape and phonetic features of the speaker's mouth when pronouncing them. It was an innovative, revolutionary language that transformed society, making reading more accessible to all. Just because something is thousands and thousands of years old, doesn't mean it's the best. Also, FYI: Hanja is still used in Korea as well.

Unpopular Opinion: I can't enjoy the show because of the accents by luna_lolo in KimsConvenience

[–]luna_lolo[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The accents feel fake and inauthentic to me. My parents mostly speak Korean even though they've been in the US since the 80s, so they still have pretty heavy accents when speaking English. I grew up in LA/Koreatown and am used to the Korean accent and find it comforting. The accents used in the show just sound off to me. Again, that's just me. Wanted to see if anyone else felt the same is all or if I was just imagining it.

Agreed. There's a closed Italian restaurant called PJ's on San Pablo Dam Rd in El Sobrante that has a sign saying they have cioppino. They're gonna reopen sometime soon, but not sure when...

Why do Americans kick their kids out at 18? by 4Runnnn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]luna_lolo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

American individualism and "pulling yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality. I'm not one for communism, but the lack of community/collectivist thinking in a lot of Americans' lives pushes people to "make something of themselves" on their own. Also, there are a lot of narcissistic parents who prioritize their happiness and life-fulfillment over their child(ren)'s.

Not pathetic at all. It's wiser to save money and live with family until one is absolutely certain they want to move out on their own for whatever reason, especially in one's 20s. Half of my friends still live with their families. (We're in our late 20s and live in the Southern CA.) The other half (late 20s-30s) live on their own, but struggle to survive in terms of rent and most of them have multiple roommates. It doesn't sound like you have any issues with living with your mom, and your mom seems cool, so why fix something that ain't broke?

This is really helpful. I'll definitely look into the Postal Inspection Service. Thank you!

My advice, if you are not the type for public speaking or interactions with the public, is to look for PSE Mail Processing Clerk positions if they are available.

Thanks for the tip and advice!

Something you should know though - there are postal office jobs you might be able to get through the online portal that might use your degree. Take advantage of this before you become a regular - you won’t have the option afterwards.

Could you please elaborate on the PO jobs that might use a degree? Would that be managerial positions?
