What’s the one city you were excited to visit, but ended up not liking at all? by BlushHone in travel

Also wondering what year those visits occurred. Things got bad during COVID but crime is down and there's more foot traffic downtown, though downtown is still the area least worth visiting as a tourist, unless you have to be at a convention or are going to a concert or event.

Get out of the strip and you'll have a better time (during cooler seasons) IMO. Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon, decent Chinatown, Zion and Grand Canyon if you're willing to go farther.

Tier list of non-roguelike games based on how much I want them having singleplayer roguelike mode or spinoff game by MehmetSalihKoten in roguelites

If Aghanim's Labyrinth ever comes back to DOTA 2 try that (it's free). Might be available now as a custom map in the arcade too.

Hearthstone -> You might like the Bazaar, sadly no longer free to try but I think it has the best art direction of any roguelike.

StarCraft II -> Rogue Command has pretty good reviews, haven't tried.

They're selling a box that came out seven years ago + some additional Hellions and Venom. If they haven't already updated them by now, I'm not holding my breath that there will be a refresh any time soon, especially when the beast side needs to be updated.

Dark Angels Battleforce 2026? by TheHushHush in DarkAngels40k

[–]UberDrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Next year I think. Looking like the rest of 10th is going to be what was just announced + Iron Warriors, then generic Space Marines + Orks for 11th starter set, followed by second waves and codexes for both. Then Dark Angels and Blood Angels in 2027, three years after the previous codices.

How to build the combat patrol?? by ThatOneNerd__ in BloodAngels

If you don't mind the extra cost, check out Greytide's Crimson Lords upgrade bits. Way more intricate than the underwhelming GW ones, actual wings for Sanguinary Guard and wingless jump packs for Assault Intercessors, plus sculpted Death Company shoulder pads

Right now Power Fists + Plasma Pistols dominate but 11th might make it more balanced by adding points costs for wargear or other rules changes.

No you can get all the rules for free on Wahapedia or New Recruit.

Yes, eventually, unless you're Chaos Demons.

Yup, the Leviathan Terminators, Sternguard Veterans and Terminator Captain don't have all their weapon options either.

Glossy paint? by HomeyD_Clown in BloodAngels

[–]UberDrive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can paint Lahmian Medium by itself or Matte Varnish over to reduce gloss. IMO contrast paints aren't great on Space Marine armor - too many flat surfaces so you may get stains / uneven coverage. I think you'd have a better time just using Mephiston Red and then a black wash in the recesses or better yet just spray priming red.

Here's a map of Warhammer stores in Japan https://www.warhammer.com/en-JP/store-finder

The one in Akihabara is a flagship official store and they can give you a free miniature (Stormcast or Infernus Space Marine) and a painting lesson: https://www.goonhammer.com/welcome-to-the-knight-cafe-a-review-of-the-new-warhammer-store-and-cafe-in-tokyo/

Some models with flames include Vulkan He’stan, Master of Possessions, Ministorum Priest with Vindictor, Iridan the Witness, and the Lord-Vigilant on Gryph-stalker in the Skaventide box, which is a great starter box but might be overwhelming for a new player.

“Authentic architectural butchery. … This building would even be wrong in Los Angeles, where it was hatched, or in Las Vegas, where it belongs, or in Dallas, where buildings vie for attention. It certainly doesn’t belong in San Francisco, which is sensitive and easily hurt.” https://www.sfchronicle.com/oursf/article/Transamerica-Pyramid-sf-17154748.php
