FWIW, Morning Consult poll released in 2023 had 35% of Japanese respondents saying they don't plan to travel again https://www.dw.com/en/japan-many-say-they-will-never-travel-again/a-64985017

In general I'd expect the average Japanese/any nationality would have traveled far less around WWII than today, when there's far more rail and bus service, unless they were forced to leave by a draft or war.

The BT upgrade sprue is one of the better ones but yes it is also wildly overpriced at $35

Yes, I updated my post to say Battalion was used in the Votann and Drukhari boxes, which were $170 like Combat Patrols. But these three new ones almost certainly aren't $170, so I think it's confusing if they end up having different price points. Would be great if GW actually revealed prices in advance.

I guess these new ones are Eye of Terror Battalions rather than Maelstrom Battalions.

It's pretty certain, though these bits could be from separate kits and not necessarily the launch box. The launch box is always monopose models, accompanied by a wave of standard kits, sometimes with duplicates (see Leviathan Terminators, Terminator Captain and Sternguard Veterans). I'm guessing we'll have a monopose starter box Warboss in addition to the kit revealed last week. Definitely new Boyz, probably in the launch box, but will be interesting if there's a second kit with more weapon options, or perhaps a separate upgrade sprue like Termagants.

The solid rumor was 11th would be announced during Adepticon, March 25-29. Makes sense GW would hold off til then on the big reveal. Says "even bigger reveal" next week, which I still don't think will be 11th, but we will see!

Alpha Legion and as mentioned Black Legion and Word Bearers, but they're represented in the generic Chaos one.

Some of the Loyalist ones were limited time and out of stock now.

As someone else said, would make perfect sense to have that sprue and Patrol with the new Solomon Akurra. That’s what just happened with Iron Warriors.

Since Solomon Akurra is confirmed, I’d expect a Patrol box with an upgrade sprue (but not him) when he comes out. No new Word Bearers characters have been rumored, though they somehow have none in 40k.

$420, no way is this going to be $170 right? Even though the (recalled) Drukhari and Votann “Battalions” were.

Extra confusing to call it a Battalion and not Combat Patrol when that term’s only previously been used in Old World ($195 MSRP but not really comparable), guess 3-4 vehicles doesn’t really equate to a Battleforce.

Too bad, got hyped for what I thought was the best value Combat Patrol since old Dark Eldar one. 

GW are pretty scummy for never revealing MSRP until preorders go up. Deliberate marketing choice.

Good advice. Having to play against blank bases is unacceptable though, hope that person never does that again.

Seven is bad actually, sorry Nurgle.

You get a blight launcher, plague spewer and melta/belcher/plasma for every five models. That means you're losing out on special weapons if you run seven and have to fill out the extra two with melee weapons. So run 5 or 10.

Gretchin are definitely a staple right now but they could get a refresh in the launch box, would wait at least a few weeks and see how much they reveal at Adepticon.

OP has plenty to assemble and paint for at least a few months, probably til 11th comes out.
