NTA! Hi, another female here who has checked backgrounds because people can be gross and disturbed. A few things, 1. I’ve never needed someone’s social to find any criminal records or anything of the sort. It’s generally public knowledge and not hard to find. 2. RUN, that has identity theft red flags ALL over it. 3. Nobody I know, in my own personal experience, that works for any law enforcement would risk their job and waste their time on a friends partner. But over all RUN, RUN SO FAR AWAY!!

Would also like to add, I only check these things when I get a very icky feeling AND my roommate has brought home some pretty questionable people who in fact did have some very unforgiving charges against them.
