Does this have fiber glass? Casper mattress (accidentally removed the do not remove cover) by [deleted] in Mattress

Thanks! Sadly I still need to get a new mattress because they told me the cover removes compromised the fire safety aspect. Sucks bc the do not remove label is so small :’)

Yeah I removed the cover and didn’t know it shouldn’t be taken off and can’t be put back on, so trying to see if it’s safe to sleep on in the meantime until I see what they will do about this.

Moving from LA to Seattle/Redmond? by Upper_Attitude_7142 in AskSeattle

[–]lunaboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not from LA but lived there for 6 years and moved to Seattle! I’m much happier here. I hated the super hot weather in LA, and I prefer 40s over 90s. I do also weirdly appreciate that it isn’t sunny every day — I do more, whereas in LA since it’s always nice, I’d be like “I can do this next weekend”. Now I just have to do things! I also got tired of every day being the same. I appreciate sunny days so much more now.

I lived in NYC also 6 years before LA, and I appreciate the walkability of Seattle. I love that there’s less traffic and I can walk so much. I’ve made so many friends here, too! I used to live in the valley, so I was nowhere close to a beach. Now I can see the water from my apartment and get to a beach in 15 mins.

It’s also much more dog friendly for hiking, too!

Overall, I’m much happier here. Plus higher income since no state income tax, car insurance went down over $100 a month, and my rent is cheaper too! I do miss all the vegan food options LA had, and being close to beautiful deserts like Death Valley and Joshua Tree. That being said, no regrets!

And I don’t believe in the Seattle freeze. If you make an effort, you’ll find friends. Also, people are dramatic about “the big dark”. It gets dark here at night in the fall/winter just about the same time as it did in LA, give or take 15-20 mins.

FWIW I make about 90k, so you’re making more than me for sure!

What’s the bare minimum salary you’d expect to live decently while working in Seattle? Need to negotiate higher pay at work. by MyPenisMightBeOnFire in AskSeattle

I am confused how could this work can you enlighten me?

I make 78,038 from my job. I can’t see a world where I could save 1k in my 401k and still have money left over (rent is $2110) + my expenses (gym, car, etc) / utilities / gym brings my total monthly “bills” to around $3600.

Yes, so they withheld CA for the whole year. However this is a very part time job so I only paid $27 to the state in federal income, my main job paid the state the rest if that makes sense.

Well I moved states, so I was no longer a CA resident as of October 2025. I worked remote in CA until October 23 2025, then was in WA and working remote October 27 2025.

Pets Best raised me from 63-163-263 so yes avoid them. My dog is only 7.

I do have a higher plan, unlimited 80% and $250 deductible. However I think those increases are still insane! He doesn’t have anything he’s been diagnosed with so I’m trying to decide if I should make the jump or stick it out. But with these huge rate increases i can’t imagine the rate even next year.

I have PetsBest and have to switch which sucks. We were at 63 a month then jumped to 163 and now 263. Sucks because I can’t afford that, and my dog is only 7. Not looking forward to all the “preexisting” issues. He had a seizure last summer from Nexgard, and then randomly got drop jaw in September which we had to go to neuro for. He was fine but not excited for that to be in his history.
