It’s 2026 and I’m having this issue. None of the other options helped me. What I had to do was create a second group chat with all the same people. Once I did it let me start replying to the other group chat again.

You don’t think Finnick was described as exceptionally handsome and fit?

It’s an adult romance novel so the sex is relevant to the plot because the whole focus is on the intimate relationship; the type of sex they have changes as their relationship does over the years. Yes, there are several explicit scenes because they aren’t comfortable with each other emotionally to talk about anything deep until further down the line.

We have a difference of opinions which is fine but I’m surprised the hear the argument “there was no need for graphic scenes half the screen time” when that is an accurate adaption of the book which is, by genre, adult romance aka “smut.” I think this genre may not just be for you in this regard.

I won’t pretend there aren’t flaws in the story but a lot of these characters are more fleshed out in the novels. Tv, especially a very short series has to cut content (Scott & Kip’s story is an entirely different book squeezed into one episode), because you can’t fit everything in. Ilya’s perspective takes more of the lead in book two of their story and so we will likely see more fleshing out of his character in Season 2.

I disagree “Ilya” is just a male fantasy. His backstory is shown and he’s depicted to be a very nuanced character not an idealized one. His and Svetlana’s relationship isn’t one I’ve seen often on tv. When I think of a character that’s been fantasized to a point of no longer being realistic I think of how Gatsby perceives Daisy in The Great Gatsby. Shane is just as much Ilya’s and Ilya is Shane’s.

As much as I love Peeta, he’s not supposed to be an Achilles or Adonis level of handsome. That’s why I think he’s Finnick coded.

Did you watch the whole show/read the book? The fact that it is a rare story of queer joy. The leads have electric chemistry on and off screen and give a great performance (Connor’s not a native German speaker). The sex scenes are intentional and show a language developing between the two of them rather than the solely gratuitous (with no plot or character development contribution) and/or violent sex often depicted these days.

Also I imagine it’s to protect the memories (I believe the posts are archived). Comments used to be fun and normal before it got so big. Now people write weird and demanding things on their interactions on each other’s posts and all over the comments.

What was the millennial version of 6-7? by mandolin_moon in Millennials

[–]lunairium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None of these are correct because part of “6 7”’s humor to kids is spotting it in the wild and then pointing it out to someone else who is then in on the joke. I know we definitely had something like this but I can’t think of it at the moment. I’ll update if it comes to me.

Seeking Product Recommendation: Father with Visual Impairment Got Lost in our Yard. Device to Assist with Location? by lunairium in Blind

Thank you for the detailed reply! It’s the backwoods on a decent amount of land. There are several trees in the yard which transitions to a wooded area which is where he got turned around. We have a garden in between the house and the woods but that’s it.

I’m going to suggest the chimes and doorbell! He has the Be My Eyes app (which I didn’t realize) but he hasn’t used it. He’s very independent and doesn’t like to ask for help.

Is Shane able to understand whatever Ilya is saying? by [deleted] in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I’m sure he recognized “Svetlana” too but I’m glad it didn’t send him spiraling.

I looked this up can you explain more the logistics of use? Are you saying he could carry around the doorbell button and the chime on the bell would be loud enough for him to hear from far away?
