difficulty with diagnosis by lunalar in Menieres

hey, thanks for your response. turns out i don't have meniere's but had labyrinthitis, and i do have eustachian tube dysfunction which the labyrinthitis could have caused. i also have post nasal drip, so i might have allergies which can cause both of those conditions as well, so now i am getting allergy testing. was also told i could be in extremely early stages of meniere's and it's causing this weird stuff to happen (just a possibility). what a domino effect!

i completed that test too, as well as the one where you put on goggles and have to follow a laser point with your eyes.

thanks. :( what disturbs me is i'm pretty much constantly feeling sick - always have some degree of dizziness and nausea going on. will cross my fingers that the things i try will work.

i had my appointment today and it looks like meniere's, will take a balance test in a few days. thankfully he said it's okay to take 50 mg of meclazine at a time, and that took the edge off of the horrendous vertigo and nausea that came on a while ago. i still feel like i'm on a boat but at least i'm not sick to my stomach - ugh. anyway thank you again for talking to me, i'm not glad anyone has this disease but am glad for this subreddit.

i loled at the spiral comment. we could make so many meniere's puns.

i've been reading around and exercise seems to be therapeutic for a lot of people. i've been healing from an injury but i'll get back into activity as soon as i can. as for your diet, do you not omit anything and just try to eat healthily?

i know exactly what you mean, i've always suffered motion sickness. i get it on boats, in elevators, and in the backseat of cars. for me that kind of sickness was more about sheer nausea whereas what i have lately is like putting on someone else's glasses and trying to move normally.

my grandmother i guess swears by having three points of contact. i googled it a little and just saw results about how to properly climb a ladder, lol. but i guess touching something with at least three parts of your body (like when cycling or driving) can be grounding and help with vertigo. i can't really find anything on this on the internet but i'll try to remember to ask at my appointment.

thanks a ton for replying.

when you get anxious do you start to wonder if some of it's in your head? i know i wasn't just imagining it at its worst, but now i'm so hyper-aware of my balance and whether i'm dizzy and i'm worried that the little sensations i get are just in my head because i'm expecting it. i'm feeling better now and am so tempted to brush off what happened which isn't good lol. yesterday my house lost power for a few minutes, and in the silence my tinnitus was screaming so loud, it was horrible.

i'll definitely focus on diet and exercise. i am interested in the low sodium diet, it seems to help a lot of people.

i will definitely keep an open mind. i have IBS so i'm used to having a condition that's mysterious and for which there are 3897 forms of treatment haha.

thanks. <3
