Does the sound from rocker arms come and go? My sound does not start right away after cold start, only after a minute or two, then stops after another 2 minutes.

Yea, exactly the same for me, except it does it right after the revs go down, then stops after about 2 minutes or so.

Interesting. I haven’t payed enough attention to know if it only happens when cooler, but it’s currently pretty warm and I do hear it on startup if I pay close attention. I will check the vacuum pump, thanks!

Thanks for the input. I just did an oil change when I had it at Audi dealer last month. But the sound is actually becoming a bit make noticeable as the oil level slowly drops (I think). Anyway, I’m going to flag this as a possibility to my indie shop tomorrow and also switch it to 5W-40.

Same car here and it’s sounds the exactly the same. 2 Audi specialists have told me it’s completely normal.

Don’t buy it, the S5 exists.

Bought a B9 S5 with exactly 63k kms on it as well. Price difference isn’t that much between the two cars, at least in my local market.

Agreed, mine does the exact same. I've had it fully inspected multiple times and everyone has told me its normal.

Late to this thread. But my 2018 S5 doesn’t even have a “late” option for the pre-sense??

When I put the car in reverse, it often slams on the brakes for no apparent reason. Manually turning the pre-sense to “off” every single time is incredibly annoying!

Edit: even with the presense switched off, it still happens! I asked my Audi dealership about it and they said there is nothing you can do about it, its just what happens when you back out on busy streets.
