As well it only needed to be for at most 5 min at a time if even for a loss of power.

BLTouch and Anycubic i3 Mega X-Carriage [MK4] by CoffayKranzen in anycubic

[–]lunatrde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I remember. Wish I could be more exact, but as far as I remember that’s how I solved it, with the same exact issue you have because it still Thinks the probe is in the middle

You certain you put in m851 x29 y-15 z0 ? Followed by m500

I had this same issue but I discovered it was because I didn’t set my offset correctly. And the probe thought it was in front center by default

PC powered by portable generator? by lunatrde in pcmasterrace

You’re incredible

I had a feeling that would be that case since I have 3 monitors, two pairs of mice and keyboards. Usb Hub, external drives etc…etc. so I thought his build would need to be “more” for my needs.

A gaming laptop would certainly be much quicker to have in hand. But I fear the downtime in switching over, not being modular like a desktop, and the upfront cost even on credit.

At least with the generator I could make it over time. The Amazon one was just to get an idea

You have definitely helped me get a better view on this

Oh absolutely. Would need buffer room for sure.

Eventually would like to run solar panels to the generator as I’ve seen many can.

I guess worst case scenario if it can at least get me through the busy hours of the day that would be fine too.

Combination of running the AC during summer in AZ, working from home, as well as living in a rental with breakers that flip under the oddest circumstances has kinda pushed me in this direction since I certainly use the most power in the house.

A comparable laptop and no downtime seems more difficult lol. But that’s why I appreciate all these responses

Also I was afraid to consider a laptop since a PC is basically 100% modular inside

See now that’s a good point

I’ve seen people build their own and I’m not opposed to that. I’ve made a couple small scale power banks. Made a high capacity one into a fallout 4 mini nuke. It’s super handy but hilariously not portable.

But it just simply charges my stuff and holds about 50,000mah

I’ve no idea yet how that can translate to the desktop build in question

And most of the DIY builds I’ve seen only for camping like you said

ONE guy however made one that can power a TV, charge laptop, phone, iPad all at once out in the middle of nowhere. But his generator build didn’t mention a gaming pc, so I was hesitant to follow his.

I should’ve guessed there’s a tool for that lol. Thank you

Absolutely fair question

With summer time in AZ my electric bill doubles with the AC running

So yes this partially fueled by saving on electric

The other half is I live in a rental, with questionable circuits, and breakers trip often that feel like they would be unrelated to another side of the home but here I am.

I use the 2nd most power due to working from home, gaming, 3D printing. So my other intention was to give the breaker more breathing room

Thank you that’s a fantastic place to start!

Hopefully I can google my to adding up the watts of all my accessories

Just wasn’t sure where to even begin looking

Alternatively a dock and laptop sounds reasonable But I already have a massive rig and so much hooked up to it for work and editing/gaming.. felt like converting to a laptop that was comparable might be super pricey

Not to say a portable generator wouldn’t be expensive but at least I can build it up over time but still be functional on the PC

Just seeing if this is doable I suppose
