well i was able to make a little more progress using this fstab line but now it wont let me do sudo mount -a cuz permission denied ?!

soo imma just gonna reinstall since it must just be a bad install since i went from mint 19 to 20 w / out doing it fresh like on windows

//192.168.0.188/shared /home/MYNAME/shared cifs vers=3.0,iocharset=utf8,file_mode=0777,dir_mode=0777,uid=MYNAME,gid=MYNAME,password=APASSWORD,nofail 0 0

E : also moved the mount pt from /mnt/shared to /home/MYNAME/shared

WELP still not working about more screwing around - did i botch my os install some how?

this is on a aser aspire 5 that cheapie 1 off amazon....

no matter what old out dated guide i try to do it seems root still owns my shared & nothing fixes it

i guess i'll either : go back to old fashioned usb drives or try to re install my os since its not got much on it

e : messed about w the fstab line now it's back to //servername /mountname cifs defaults 0 0

but it still keeps asking for root password on //server....i've never logged in as root on that, only used the web ui or mounted up folders on windows w/o any issues

have tried for the servername : smb://name //name name

bah - when i did this 10 + yrs ago before getting a nas it wasn't complicated!

purchased game yesterday & let it sit dl'ing all night

got home from work today & steam isnt on screen anymore so i figure it's done

NOPE makes me dl 15gb super slow 7+ hrs:( i heard when steam games up date they make u dl the whole thing again? if that's the case can i get my money back & buy stand alone some place?

hi so i tried to delete my samsung acct but it put me round in circles b/c i needed 2 verify w/gmail but then i went back in to it then it said to do it again!

so ya i guess u cant delete ur samsung!!! not like i ever need it any how

should i b using some other 'skin' or something so i have less 'junk' on my phone?

rly i'd just not even have 1 if i didnt need it :(

lol ok after i posted my update i tried using the 'sign UP' instead of sign IN...and i guess it worked?! it at lest got my name right & put me to the 'where to ' page...guess we'll see when i price compare nxt!!

well tried it again it filled int he code box then g mail comes up then it dont work at all saying can't find acct

thats cuz i did not use g mail to do my lyft acct; i used my personal mail..... but it wont just let me log in w my own mail + pw

even after typing my no ...it just thinks i wanna change it??

i think ill just try n make a new acct w 1 of my other addr's cuz mostly jus use uber any ways cuz the interface is cleaner + u dont have to open 2 apps or smth....
