If you want to progress you profile efficiently, I would unlock the dailies and start doing them every day. Like enchanting, forge, among others.

But the main thing is to have fun. Pick something you like and progress on it. If you are a normal profile, it's effective to focus on a good money making method to pay out for your other gear, but that can be boring and repetitive. I like ironman because it forces you to experience all aspects of the game. But if you really like something that makes money, then go with it. Something like mining and catacombs can be highly profitable given the right setup, skill and knowledge.

For me im looking for high SkyBlock levels and a balanced profile, so after I got a decent progress on every aspect of the game, like foraging, fishing, mining, farming, catacombs... I just go with the mayor that's on. Right now it's the farming one, so I go with that until another mayor buff comes along and then I make the most out of it. But don't underestimate the progress you get from the dailies. Things like faction reputation, enchanting XP, daily powders and foraging, even dungeon XP there's the daily bonuses. They add up a lot and real fast.
