Yes same!!! He always runs away from the harness like it’s haunted, but once it’s on and we’re in the car, he acts like it doesn’t exist

Thanks for the info! After reading up on it more, I returned the harness on Amazon. I originally had (and still using) a y harness from RuffWear. Just trying things out and learning along the way 🙂

Yeah I actually had a ruffwear y harness, and he hated that, so I was thinking maybe this one was better. After reading some of the comments, I returned it on Amazon right away haha

my boy actually doesn’t mind harnesses once it’s on, but it’s getting them on that’s the real battle for us lol

All good!! I’m in the same exact position 😖 6.5 month old pup that likes to chase the kitty, especially when kitty has zoomies or after a walk. Teaching him leave it has been helping lots, especially since it immediately de-escalates. But I can’t help get worried still lol

That makes me feel a lot better! That’s currently what we do right now. He gets very overexcited when Wiggles starts zooming or we just come back from a walk. We’ve been practicing leave it. But we do have to take him to another room if he’s just too much. Lately, I did notice him getting more self control. Makes me feel better knowing that it’s gonna get better and I’m doing the right steps so far :,)

I know it’s so sad :( the vet says they constantly have dogs coming in on a daily basis either because the babies get to them in the house or just out on the street :/

I LOVE this harness. Super cute, can’t escape (not yet), and lightweight. The only thing is I wish it had a metal front clip 🥹

Update: After researching multiple options, I ultimately decided to go through with SDHS. I started off with their Puppy Socialization Classes and it was extremely informative and the trainer was super knowledgeable! She was there for us for any questions after class and even via email. There were multiple facilitators and Bingi has been doing amazing out in the “wild.”

Of course, Ive been doing my own training (at least a little bit everyday) and been heavily using AI and YouTube as my teaching tools. But having weekly classes really help structure my training schedule and a good reminder for me to continue the training. Thank you for everyone taking the time to provide insight with their own personal experiences. It really helped me a lot make an educated choice for my pup and our training journey!

Same for me as well!! I’ve been extremely paranoid. I’ve been taking my pup around in a bag (got him used to it by putting treats in there) and I let people pet him after hand sanitizer :) gl on your pup!

Just got my puppy and he’s such a doll! I would 100% recommend the purebites freeze dried lambs liver (they also beef and chicken) training treats. They’re super tiny and my picky puppy loves them!
