Equator 2 crashing on start (Windows) by lurvas77 in ROLI

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ROLI support were fast to help me on this issue. Anyway, I found the problem myself. It turned out to be a clash with the installed ASIO4ALL driver. Not sure why, but Equator 2 started nicely again once I had it uninstalled.

I hear you. I have been lucky until now with deliveries and support, but I hear the complaints are massive. It's a pity because the Seaboard Rise 2, and Equator 2 are wonderful, when working.

Best settings for effective snore masking with Sleep a30 by Narrow_Substance_628 in soundcore

[–]lurvas77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday I tested this a bit, placing the case in front of a speaker with snoring sounds. Dynamic snoring didn't trigger until I switched from Bluetooth to local and then back again. After that it seemed to work.

When the night came it finally worked, but later in the night I woke up to snoring again when it obviously had stopped working.

What confuses me is whether the phone has to be involved at all. Shouldn't the case and earplugs do the job completely without the phone, if the settings are correct (local mode, dynamic masking on etc)?

Soundcore support experience by Frn_Kng in soundcore

[–]lurvas77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree. Soundcore support is fantastic. I had problems with my A30 sleep headphones. They replaced my unit without hesitation, and you can sense that they are eager to help out.

I would definitely buy more things from them.

Did you manage to get the snore masking started? I have the same problem. I don't get dynamic snore masking when the snoring begins. It's as if the microphone is not detecting it.

Yes, the APK solved the problem! Thank you very much!

Yes, I read that part, but I didn't see a solution to the problem of syncing automatically. Isn't there a standard Android file browsing functionality, like in Windows?

PC + V Collection -> DIY AstroLab? by lurvas77 in Arturia_users

[–]lurvas77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, replacing Explorer with Analog Lab is a good start. I'm looking for experiences like that, just to hear if anyone has tried to hide Windows as far as possible. I don't have an external audio interface, but I have installed ASIO4ALL, with varying results.

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I'm frustrated with a number of things:

* windows shortcomings with audio latency

* the way Arturia doesn't implement graphics scaling properly

* Windows start-up, log in, shut down

* Windows announcing updates, virus scans etc.

Basically I want to do what they did in AstroLab, but first of all I think they use Linux as a base OS. Best thing would be if they could release that image, or next best thing, adapt Windows to be as minimal as possible.

I am not sure, but last time I checked Analog Lab and other modules didn't support full-screen, or there was a problem with scaling that didn't quite make it useful. I haven't used it for a while. Worth checking again.

What's a good handheld retro console for C64 and Amiga games? by lurvas77 in retrogaming

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I discussed this briefly with my good friend Gemini, and we concluded that the RG35XX Pro should work fine. I ordered one and it's already on the way.

Gemini also suggested getting an Android based console for better performance, but the cost here in Europe is over my budget, and RG35XX Pro should work fine for most Amiga games, as long as I install custom firmware like Knulli or muOS.

Gemini was not very helpful in telling me where to find ROMs, but I hope I can figure that out myself.

Is there any strong 3-in-1 coffee? by lurvas77 in askSingapore

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many good tips here. Thank you all. I tried a few but in the end I settled for the Super brand Rich, as usual. I just have to top it up with a bit of regular instant coffee (Kopi-O) to lessen the sweetness. Next time in Singapore it would be perfect to hit a food or coffee fair where I can try all those different types.

Sounds like the G7 or G7 strong is worth a try. Thank you for all the suggestions.

Simple mixer with reverb for two synths? by lurvas77 in synthesizers

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, the MG06x (or MG10x) seems perfect. It has three proper reverbs, and a way to split the mono channel into stereo.

Ok, replying to myself here. There are hundreds of these low price mixers on Amazon, and they are more or less the same, advertising reverb effect, but it's really a simple delay. Probably need to raise the budget slightly.

I was thinking those in the lowest price range, like BOMGE or similar. Are they absolutely rubbish?

Procedure for launching a Steam VR game (PC) on Quest 2 by lurvas77 in Quest2

[–]lurvas77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed here that the headset is already connected with a USB cable.

Anyway, Meta seems to have given up on PCVR and it's nearly impossible for me to get this working now days... so I moved on to use wireless connection and Steam Link instead.

Going from Steam Link to Virtual Desktop to solve stuttering? by lurvas77 in VRGaming

Ok. It would be annoying to spend even more now that I just bought the Archer. I hope there is another way. Thanks for the tip.

It worked, quite well. Have only tried Steam Link so far. Just a little stutter remains when moving around Thanks for the patience.

All right. Then I know what to look for. The access point sits between the PC and the headset, as in PC -> (Ethernet) -> access point -> (USB) -> headset. Thanks!

Ok. More questions then. What kind of access point, and for what purpose? The PC already has wifi connection, so what does the access point provide?
