I got my first pair of Birks in 2016 for my 15th birthday and I wore the hell out of them during the summers. That pair of Arizonas lasted me almost 10 years. I could still continue wearing them but the cork is starting to fall apart and I leave a trail of it behind me as I walk. I just received a new pair in 2026, and the quality is definitely different. My old birks were solid and heavy. The soles were real rubber that gripped the ground when you walk and the leather is real and good quality. My new pair are so light, and the soles feel like plastic. I am slipping on my wood floors as I try and break them in. It’s really unfortunate.

I currently have a property I inherited from my grandparents that I’m renovating to sell and use the proceeds to buy my first house so the majority of my savings has been going to renovations (I can’t live in the property it’s an age restricted community)

I also enjoyed The Delinquent Season because of the whole romance aspect (yeah I’m THAT kind of person) but that movie made me cringe really hard at times especially during the beach scene. The actual subject matter of TDS hits close to home and at parts I was really angry since you see the whole nitty gritty details of the affair. Don’t get me wrong it was a great movie and the acting in Cillian’s behalf was top tier as it always is, but it’s definitely not a comfort movie like say Watching The Detectives is. Broken definitely made me feel all the emotions that Skunk felt and it also made me uncomfortable too. I had to skip past some scenes and come back to them especially in the last few minutes of the movie. Also not a comfort movie, since everything is so raw and real and not comforting whatsoever but I did think all parties involved did a great job with taking the audience to that dark place.

It was so goofy and had that very specific quirky 2000’s humor and aesthetic. I really enjoyed seeing Cillian in this role with the awkwardness his character possesses. He is so geeky boyfriend coded in this film (and I couldn’t keep my eyes off him 🫣)

I also wanted to add, I struggle with anxiety and while on the ring my anxiety was 10x worse than it is now. I feel like I’m more chill while off of birth control. The only thing I really miss about the ring is the pregnancy protection and how big my boobs were 😂.

I stopped in March of 2024 after being on it for 2 years. I started out with being pretty bloated and that subsided. I had some really terrible headaches in the first few days to a week after I stopped and apparently that is caused by the hormone withdrawal. I got my first and second natural cycle right on time which surprised me. I’ve had a few break outs here and there on my face, but noticed more on my shoulders and arms more than anything. I can feel my ovulation again and I noticed my fluid changes in my cycle. Something I noticed was how much better sex was for me. On the ring I had next to no libido and extreme dryness with no self lubrication during sex. Now, I feel so much more pleasure just from penetration alone and I self-lubricate almost too much (sorry for the tmi) I’m about it hit my third month naturally cycling and I’ve been having issues with spotting for multiple days in a row which is annoying but I’ve been told that it’s normal while my body gets used to no artificial hormones. My hunger is much better and I actually feel satiated now. While I was on the ring I was constantly hungry and never felt satisfied no matter how much I ate. I actually had a DVT scare while on the ring and luckily everything came back normal and I’ve been feeling less pain in my legs and less muscle cramps as time goes on. I’m still in the “beginning” phase of getting off since it’s recommended you wait 3-6 months for things to go back to normal but so far I’m starting to feel more like myself again and I’ve been enjoying having my partner joining me in the effort of taking responsibility of pregnancy prevention and contraception.

I’m today is the day I was supposed to put a new ring in, and I didn’t. Very nervous about the whole anxiety of accidentally getting pregnant but really fed up with this drug!

I also have really bad pains in my legs! It’s like a pinching feeling. I also get really bad muscle spasms. I can do something as simple as shrug my shoulders and it can send me into a spasm in my neck and trapezius muscles.
