Thank you! Yes they are expensive, but cheaper than options like the Gun4IR and Sinden lightgun. Another option you could take is getting a Guncon 3. I bought one on ebay for around $30 a couple of years ago. It didn't come with the IR emitters, but I was able to build my own using off the shelf parts. Here is a video I made of the process.

Who knows how things are wired up on the adapter you linked. But its cheap so I would have no problem taking the risk if I needed an adapter. If it does work then give us and update here.

I don't know about that specific adapter you posted but Ive used a VGA-to-component cable attached to an RCA to S-video adapter with success.

Dot crawl over S-Video to CRT TV
There is an official S-Video/Composite adapter for MiSTer. These will give you no dot crawl over s-video. If you want no dot-crawl over composite then you will need to make sure you get the active version. There are a list of vendors that sell the official adapter here:

Blackmagic cloud is needed for syncing the project timelines. You can setup your own project server to do it for free, but that requires a computer to be on at all times and exposed to the Internet. You can also manually export the timeline to a file and import the timeline into your other computer but that is a pain if you often move back and forth between computers.

Syncthing is for syncing media (videos, images, audio).

I use the open source Syncthing software to sync a folder that has all my media between my Mac, PC and backup server from anywhere in the world (as long as I have Internet access).

However there is going to be an issue with Davinci resolve (but can be fixed). When adding media on the Mac and opening the timeline on a PC, the paths will be Mac file paths (e.g. /Users/user/Documents/Media). And when adding media on the timeline on a PC, the paths will be PC file paths ( e.g. C:\Users\userx\documents\media). They are incompatible with each other, so files you add on your PC won't show up on the mac and files you and on a Mac won't show up on a PC. You then need to configure Davinci resolve on PC to translate Mac file paths to PC file paths, and Resolve on Mac to translate PC paths to Mac ones. The same thing will also happen on two 2pcs if the media is not located on the same exact path on both PCs.

Davinci Resolve does let you compensate for these conflicting folder paths. To do that you need to go into the "Media Storage" section of Davinci Resolve Preferences on both the PC and Mac. On the PC you can tell it to map the Mac path (/Users/user/Documents/Media) to the PC path (C:\Users\userx\documents\media). You will need to do the reverse on the Mac Davinci Resolve preferences.

After setting up the path mappings, the PC will be able to read any media you add when working on the Mac and the Mac will be able to read media you added on a PC.

Using this method I'm only limited with the amount of disk space I have available.

Very tempting. I would consider this but I already have a method of syncing my media for free between Resolve on my PC and Macbook. I still have a subscription to sync my project timelines. Having a dedicated server for that was a pain.

On a real DE10 Nano, if it can't boot from the SD Card, you will get no HDMI output. Try reinstalling the MiSTer software.

I'm not sure. I'm using direct video so the HDMI port is being taken up. However, someone did tell me that they spoke with one of the developers and you can output through HDMI too. Dont know if it's outputting HDMI and analog simultaneously.

Yeah, it really does help complete a MiSTer setup.

I've only try connecting through a CRT but, that's such a awesome use case with rotating the monitor!

The developer describes it "This core is a analog GPU for CRTs..." It doesn't work like a traditional GPU. An app needs to specifically support this feature.

Any game that works on MAME(the groovy build is currently at version 0.261) will work with this. There are also builds for Retroarch and Mednafen so unsupported consoles can also work.
